Hi beautiful people!
This is Marianna and Cora, we are two Italian girls that use to live in the Netherlands.
We are from the same town in Italy but we met again once we were both in the Netherlands.
Cora lived there from 2020, and Marianna moved in January 2023.
Talking and wondering about our life, we understood that we are not ready to settle yet: we love traveling, we love getting in touch with new cultures and people, we love nature and animals, and we love going out of our comfort zone.
I, Marianna, have a degree in Social and Political Studies, therefore I worked for 6 years in a row on environmental projects in different associations. I have been volunteering for years for human rights projects, such as LGBT+ , women, and migration projects.
Once I decided to leave Italy, I took the decision to a fresh new start, so in the Netherlands I was working as a manager in a restaurant. I changed my life completely because, even though I was working for the environment, I was never in nature and spending all my days in front of the laptop, without having contact with people also. I love working in contact with people and seeing their smiles and gratitude for what I'm doing, but I'm still missing contact with nature.
As a person, I am a super sunny and optimistic person, I like to say that is also thanks to my star sign (Sagittarius) but also because my roots are in the South of Italy (Sicily and Naples).
I am young and free, and I would like to give my time and competencies to projects for the environment and people, being in contact with nature and the community.
Instead I, Cora, am a compassionate and dedicated nurse who has a passion for helping people. With five years of experience as a volunteer ambulance worker, I have developed skills and expertise needed to provide emergency care and support to those in need.
In addition to my love for healthcare, I also have a deep passion for cooking and exploring the culinary delights of different cultures. I enjoy experimenting with new recipes and ingredients, and I am always eager to learn more about different cooking styles and techniques.
I also have a strong connection to nature. I love spending time outdoors, whether it's hiking in the mountains, exploring new trails, or simply enjoying the beauty of the natural world.
Living in the Netherlands, I found myself missing the diverse landscape and the majestic mountains. I love to be surrounded by the beauty of nature and the peace it brings.
As a person, I might seem introverted, but after a few hours spent together I open myself and I always love to help whoever is around me. I am open-minded and always ready for new changes and experiences.
We are quick learners and are open to learning new skills to help with any project we are working on. We believe that volunteering is not just about giving back to the community and learning from the locals, sharing experiences, and building lifelong friendships.
We are also open to sharing our background and our culture.
