Description
Hello dear workaway-community,
I'm Madline from Germany and I've just turned my whole life upside down and embarked on the adventure of a lifetime. I like to take on new challenges and I'm not afraid of failure, because I'm sure that even defeats are part of the game and open up new opportunities in life. Ever since I was little, I wanted to go out into the world, wanderlust was and is my constant companion. And now, at 34, the "someday" is finally becoming a "now", because if not now, then when, right?
After school I moved straight to the big city and since then everything has revolved around work. I have spent my professional life in various areas of the event industry and have always pursued it with passion. I now have more than 15 years of professional experience (including sole responsibility for comprehensive projects, leading set-up/dismantling of events, supervising teams and being a constant problem solver with high improvisational skills).
I am definitely a thinker type with a strong intuition and hardly ever make a decision lightly. My actions are usually characterised by strong decisiveness and good stamina.
Furthermore, I am a fun-loving person who doesn't take herself too seriously and want to enjoy life to the fullest.
Having grown up in the countryside, with my grandparents' farm right next door, surrounded by lots of nature and animals, it's probably not surprising that I'm now drawn to Canada.
I am very adaptable and capable of learning, so I am also very interested in taking on work that has nothing to do with my previous jobs. Who knows, maybe I will discover new talents in myself ;-)
I have a big heart for animals and I especially love dogs more than anything and would be very happy to take on tasks related to animals and am also willing to get my hands dirty.
So, if you are looking for help around the house or garden or anything, feel free to contact me.Interests

As far as my English skills are concerned, I'm on a good path, but I still need a bit more practical practice. My French skills are limited to the most necessary, as my school days were a bit too long ago and I never really had the chance to work on my French. As a German native speaker, I am happy to teach German to others.Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

More details about your skills
I am a certified event manager with over 13 years of professional experience. During my career so far, I have been able to gain experience in various areas of the event industry. I started in gastronomy and catering. Here I was able to prove my ability to work under pressure time and again. Working for a music label gave me my first impressions of the processes in the music business and I was mainly involved in the areas of artist promotion, GEMA and GVL registrations and accounting.
In the last seven years in an event technology company, my field of activity has steadily expanded. Starting as a team assistant, I was mainly responsible for general office procedures, preparatory accounting and travel planning. Over time I was able to expand this area and took over the complete resource planning for all events and supported the project management both in the preparation as well as in the implementation and follow-up of the festival projects. Meanwhile, I work as a senior project manager and manage my own projects completely on my own responsibility. Here, I am able to prove my independent and self-reliant work as well as my structured and precise way of working. Training new employees and leading small and medium-sized teams is also part of my job and has always been a great pleasure for me.
The special thing about the job as a project manager is the mixture of office work and work on site, where you sometimes have to get your hands dirty. In addition to the technical part, decoration and special constructions, and therefore also craft work, are also part of the job. I still have room for improvement in the craft area, but I am very highly motivated to work on it.
As I have always been very interested in the English language and have always wanted to work abroad, I am currently studying to become a foreign language correspondent by distance learning.Age
