Description

We are Maartje and Merel, a couple from the Netherlands, together 9 years.
We started traveling a long time ago all over Europe but our first long and far away trip was to Asia for 6 months. We just took it al, young and crazy! Back then we traveled really quick, 3 days here 4 days their . Lots of partying, quick chats and just the highlights. We would't want to change that trip for the world but now, 6 years later, we started our travel with a different kind of mindset.

This time we quit our jobs, subletted our house and ready to explore the world in a other way. This time we want to take it slow, take breaks inbetween. And most importantly we want to connect with people who live there lives here and learn from it and ofcourse enjoy it for all it brings.

Ofcourse in all these years we have upgraded our skills, see our previous jobs and interest.

Learning: We both really want to learn Spanish. We started duo lingo back home, but it is hard to learn when you're not in a Spanish speaking country. We would love speak Spanish fluently one day! Teaching: We are both fluent English speakers. So we can help with that. Or with Dutch, but i don't think someone would want to learn it ;).

- Industrial Product Engineer (HBO)

Work:
- Hospitality (restaurants and bars)
- Industrial Product Engineer (5 years at a research and development company)
- Product Engineer (1 year at an metal casting and forging company)

Hobby's:
- Building and making things. Think about, walk in closet, foldable boat and all kinds of small stuff to make our house and garden pretty!
- Learning to grow our own food. We have a (small) garden back home with almost only eatable plants.
- Eating and also cooking. I love eating, especially when you have put a bit of your own love in it. Maartje is such a good cook and I love (prententding to be) her sous chef and ofcourse taste it all!
- Be active!
1. I love long walks and exploring the surrounding.
2. I love the sea and dive into big waves.
3. I love to have small talks with people and getting to know eachother
4. I love cuddeling dogs (and cats and all animals)

Hobby's:
- Cooking and everything involving food and friends. I love to make delicious meals for all my friends and family. Food is the key to get everybody together. My speciality is creating delicious meals with the food I have on hand.
- Cuddeling cats. All the (ginger) cats come to me. And ofcourse all the other animals.
- Having a beer (or another drink) around a campfire.
- Be active, I love just taking an walk and exploring.
