  • Description

Hey everyone, we’re Anna (21) and Luna (24) from Berlin.

Luna is studying Environmental Engineering and Anna is studying Architecture.

We’ve always been keen on meeting new people, exploring new cultures, and discovering new places. We love the outdoors, camping, spending time with animals, and connecting with nature.

Together, we discovered our passion for backpacking. After sharing tents, hostel rooms, and a van on different journeys, we decided to also share an apartment in Berlin, where we live for two years now.

Even though Berlin has a lot to offer, we try to spend as much time as possible traveling, and we believe that Workaway is the best way to really get the most out of the time :)

We’re interested in learning more about self-sustainability, eco-projects, community living, and more. We’re pretty much open to every experience – learning a new language, an instrument, or maybe something about ourselves :)

  • More details about your skills

Together we cover a wide set of skills from teaching children to putting up fences.

    Luna:

While traveling, I worked in a hotel, doing pretty much everything from reception/night audit to housekeeping and laundry.
I worked on a blueberry farm where I helped with many projects, including drywalling the workshop, moving and organizing things, as well as working in the field, replanting the plants, setting up a water system, putting up fences... and of course, I also picked some berries :)
Also I helped on a farm, primarily looking after the many dogs (feeding, picking up poop, grooming, etc.).
I love everything connected to art. I enjoy painting and doing little DIY projects, and I hope I can add some of my creativity to the place where I’m helping out. As I’m studying Environmental Engineering, I’d be excited about helping with building projects or woodwork to gain some practical knowledge and become better with tools :)

    Anna:
This is my first Workaway, but I’ve already contributed to several social and environmental projects. I worked in architecture offices and spent a year at "Ökowerk," a nature conservation center, where I collaborated with children. At Ökowerk, I was involved in outdoor activities on a large property with a lake, where I helped with landscape care, built features like raised ponds, and conducted research on the environment.
Not only in my studies, but also in my free time, I love being creative and writing. Sometimes, it’s hard to balance this with my studies, but that's one of the reasons I’m excited about doing a Workaway – to focus on something that allows me to be creative outside of academics.
I played handball for 12 years, and although I haven't joined a team in Berlin yet, I would say that my time in team sports taught me a lot about teamwork, communication, and perseverance, qualities I still carry with me today.
In our apartment, we’ve built many things ourselves, from furniture to other creative projects. This hands-on work has developed my skills in problem-solving and working with natural materials, especially outdoors.

We hope to find an exchange of not just skills and knowledge but also of stories and memories !
