Activities i am interested in:

Travelling the States from East to West (northern route) and back to East (southern route) during spring 2024. Mostly Workaway and solo travelling. Get in touch and let's share a pice of adventure!

Description

I am an active, young guy from Finland who likes physical activity, spending time in nature, reading and cooking, among other things. This spring I am graduating from a master's degree program in Agricultural Economics at the University of Helsinki. I also have a bachelor in microbiology. After several intense years of studying and working besides, I now plan to take some time to calm my mind, travel around and seek some perspectives and new impressions. To do this, I am travelling to the United States (and maybe also South America) during the spring of 2024.

So far my plans are quite open, but I would really like to do some Workaway networking during this time, since I enjoy connecting with locals and getting to know people, cultures and everyday-life at grassroots level when I travel. Years back I had an amazing Workaway-experience in Germany, where I stayed for a couple of months working on a farm. Something similar, or completely different, would be lovely to experience in the States as well.

As a person I am open-minded, idependent and very self-initiated, so just give me a chance and I will show that I can be useful. I am quite a workaholic, and I enjoy working both with my body and mind. Getting my fingers dirty is nothing I fear, and I am familiar both with farm-related work as well as housekeeping etc. I can be social and interactive, but I also enjoy my own time and space (as a true Finn).

Things I enjoy include reading books, listening to music and podcasts, watching good movies, working in the garden, walking, hiking, biking, spending time with family and friends (including meeting new people) and so forth. I like visiting new places, cities and countries, and learning about history and cultures. I am found of languages, and I manage quite well in five different.

I am looking tremendously forward my adventure in the United States, and I hope You could become part of it for a while!

More details about my language interests
My English is quite fluent and improving it is not the main purpose of this travel, although I am happy to be able to practice anytime. I would definitely not mind if there is a possibility to practice German as well. If you'd like to learn some Finnish, Swedish or Spanish I would be glad to help.

Academically, I have a double bachelor's degree, one in microbiology and one in agricultural economics. Further, I am right about to graduate from a master's program in Agricultural-, Environmental and Natural Resource Economics.
However, as a person I am quite practical, and I like to work with my hands and body. Regardless of what I do, I am very diligent, and keen on doing a thourough and meticulous effort. I am honest and dedicated, which are properties that I appreciate in other people as well.
