Hello lovely people and travellers,
my name is Lou and I am a 22 year old graduating media student from Germany.
Ever since I was very young I have loved traveling and getting to know peoples culture and background, seeing the way they live and explore their beautiful countries. I have been to loads of amazing places and have met a bunch of amazing people. Thats also what I want to keep on doing because I can simply not get enough of it!
I am a very happy, enthousiastic, caring but also adventurous person. I love the outdoors and like to surf, horseback ride (especially trail riding), kayak, hike, play team sports or do just whatever, whenever with fun people around. Crafts, art and painting is one of my big hobbies so I am always happy to do all kinds of DIY projects with- or for you. Since I was 6 I have been playing the piano and I usually bring a guitar or a ukulele wherever I go to play some music (campfire sessions obviously included)! I like being with people and am always happy to join you on whatever adventures you have planned!
When I was 16 I stayed in Vancouver, Canada as an exchange student for 5 months and lived with a sweet- slightly chaotic family of five, with three children in the age range from 5 - 11. This was one of the best experiences in my life and I love my little "extra siblings" like crazy. We used to go on hikes together, play games and sports and I would help with general tasks at home like cooking, cleaning up after ourselves and the kids and walking the dog. We all got along very well and I still visit them once every two years if Corona and finances allow it;)
I also worked at a sustainable hostel on the Canary islands for a couple of weeks and am therefore acquainted with hospitality and booking systems. Besides work I was able to surf there, paint and spend time with the adults and kids that would come stay, which was a blast! It was one of my favorite summers of all time and I would do it again any time.
In 2022 I worked at a surf hostel in the Netherlands, where I mainly cooked and did outside crafts and building tasks, which I really loved as well! Since then I like to cook delicious (I hope you think so as well) and healthy food or be the barbecue master. If you want I would love to share some German or Dutch receipes with you.
At home I have a sweet dog and we used to have budgies and bunnies when I was little. I am a good horseback rider and would LOVE to ride out if you have horses, (recently I have been practicing on icelandic horses for the first time:) )- apart from that I love ALL animals, and am always open to help with any farm work and feeding tasks.
I speak English, German and Dutch fluently and am working on my French skills. This year I would love to visit lovely people or a lovely family that lives on a farm, the country doesnt matter as much - I am just happy to get to know your area! The past half year I have spent in front of my computer finishing my thesis, studying and working next to it, so now I want nothing more than to move, get my hands dirty, enjoy others company, listen to and tell stories and leave my phone inside. I can stand the rain and the cold and I think there's no bad weather - only bad clothing;)
If this sounds like a match and you'd like to get to know each other through a face time call, I would be super happy to hear from you!
Liebe Grüße

I stayed with Loes, the kids and Gizmo (the king of the house) for about 5 days and it was a truly enriching experience.
I felt home and welcome from the first moment I stepped into the charmingly decorated house. There is a lot of things to do all the time. I did a bit of cleaning here and there but… read more
