  • Description

    Bonjour !

We are a bi-national couple, Loïse is from France (moved to Winnipeg, Canada in 2010) and Al is French-Canadian (from Winnipeg). We met in Winnipeg and have been together since 2012 (we are now married!). We decided to move to France this June 2021 to be closer to Loïse's family and experience a different lifestyle and environment. Our dream is to eventually live somewhere in Frace surrounded by nature, have some farm animals (and dogs!), be self-sufficient and have a better work-life balance. We have been living in apartments all of our adult lives and cannot wait to have the space to garden and get our hands dirty.

Al works remotely for a Winnipeg start-up (Vidday.com) as the Customer Service Manager and is teaching himself how to code. He loves to meditate, be active, make bonfires, and read about the bitcoin and stoicism.

Loïse will be leaving her temporary job in Canada when moving to France. She is passionate about sewing and wanting to eventually start her own business in ethical and sustainable fashion. She is also passionate about psychology (especially child development, she has a bachelor of psychology), natural and sustainable living, and loves to bake delicious cakes.

We both love animals and children. We also love travelling and meeting new people. In 2016, we did a 10 months backpacking trip, 6 months in Southeast Asia and 4 months in Europe where we did 2 Workaways: one on a permaculture farm and one at a meditation and yoga retreat centre (both in Turkey), both experiences were amazing! Then again in 2018 we left for 4 months (Central America, Morocco, Egypt). Our plan since then has been to prepare ourselves to move to France.

We both have experience in the tourism industry (worked for Via Rail for 3 years, the sleeper train that crosses Canada). Besides that, Al was in the Canadian army for 4 years and also has experience in customer service. Loïse has worked with as a Assistant teacher at a Montessori childcare centre.

Al's first language is French (Canadian) and he is also fluent in English. Loïse is French and speaks English fluently.
