New Zealand - from Apr 2025 until Apr 2027 View allDescription
Adventuring to New Zealand has been a blast so far, with our first 2 months being filled with surprises. We’ve spent the past few weeks converting our van (after our first broke down!:( . ) and have learnt a lot about DIY-ing, but are ready to get back on the road. We are excited to continue immersing ourselves in the outdoors appreciating the beautiful nature of New Zealand and learning about your culture.
I (Nicole) was born in Venezuela, Liam in Canada, and we have lived most of our lives in Scotland.
I have a background in Occupational Therapy and Floristry, and Liam has worked in Sports Coaching and Social Work. In our downtime we enjoy experimenting in the kitchen (Japanese and South American cuisine are our favourite!!), I enjoy DIY arts and crafts and Liam is a keen artist. Having both grown up in outdoor, animal friendly environments we also love going on dog walks, doing water sports and visiting local nature reserves.
When living in South Africa I loved growing up surrounded by wild animals and , and Liam grew up on a smallholding with horses and chickens as well as a large fruit and veg garden. So we both love working with animals (especially pet cuddles!) and tending to gardens and crops. We are enthusiastic to get stuck in with local customs, learning new skills through sharing experiences with our hosts. One thing we are really interested in is the Hāngī way of cooking!
As well as learning from our hosts, we look forward to being able to share what knowledge we have! I am fluent in English and Spanish, but also have some knowledge of Japanese. I am also crafty and enjoy doing macrame art. Liam has a good knowledge of sports coaching (skiing in particular), and he is also a keen musician and artist. Both of us are avid cooks and we would love to share the recipes and techniques that we have acquired from around the world.Interests
