Hi there! :)
I'm Anthea, and after finishing my bachelor’s in psychology, I’ve decided to set out on a little adventure before my master’s kicks off in October. The last few years in Berlin have been amazing and full of city life, but now I’m really drawn to spending more time in nature, hiking, and slowing things down a bit to enjoy the outdoors and fresh air.
Over the last half year, I’ve had the chance to be part of several different Workaway projects, and each of them has taught me a lot. I’ve supported a family with little kids on Corfu, trained Pilates and helped with translations in an Ayurveda clinic in Sri Lanka, got my hands dirty on a Danish farm (mainly in the greenhouses), and helped out at the reception in a hostel. Each place was unique, and I really enjoyed getting to know the people, cultures, and daily routines. I love pitching in – whether it's gardening, helping around the house, playing with the kids or simply sharing stories over a good meal.
Curiosity is a big part of who I am! I’m always keen to pick up new skills, try local crafts, or learn about sustainable living. When I’m not on the move, you’ll likely find me meditating, doing Pilates, swimming, reading, or exploring art and culture. Psychology fascinates me, and nothing makes me happier than having open, genuine conversations about human behavior, growth, or simply life itself.
People often tell me I have a warm, easygoing nature and that I’m a good listener – something I really value and hope to bring along to any new team. Thanks to my background in psychology and my various workaway experiences, I feel comfortable connecting with all kinds of personalities and adapting to new environments.
I’m looking forward to meeting wonderful people, learning new things, and giving back as much as I can on your project. If that sounds like a good fit, I’d love to get in touch!Interests

More details about your skills
Over the years, I've had the chance to dip my toes into all sorts of interesting jobs, and each one has taught me something new and exciting.
I've done everything from working in a factory (where I learned the true meaning of "hard work" and how to handle long shifts!) to helping out in a busy bakery. I've tutored kids in English, French, and Spanish, which was a blast and really honed my language skills. This experience helped me develop effective teaching methods and learn how to communicate complex ideas in simple ways. As a babysitter, I further developed my skills in patience, responsibility, and quick thinking, learning to manage unexpected situations and care for children with empathy and attentiveness.
One of my favorite experiences was leading ballet-inspired workout classes. It was so much fun and taught me how to motivate and instruct a group.
I also had the amazing opportunity to manage a jewelry shop. It was like a crash course in customer service, team leadership (I managed a team of six), and juggling a million tasks at once. I learned so much about organization and how to create a welcoming environment for customers.
My experiences in healthcare settings have been incredibly rewarding. As an assistant in a psychiatric practice, I handled everything from administrative tasks to welcoming patients and conducting diagnostic questionnaires. It taught me so much about empathy, confidentiality, and the importance of creating a safe space for people.
One of my most interesting roles was as a research assistant in an aging study. I conducted cognitive tests with older adults, which was fascinating! It really taught me how to communicate effectively with different age groups and how to make people feel comfortable during assessments.
My time in a somatic clinic was also super valuable. I led groups on mindfulness, psychoeducation, meditation, as well as movement therapy sessions including Pilates and gentle stretching. I also had the chance to support people during acute crises, panic attacks, and dissociative episodes. During this time, I learned various supportive methods, including breathing techniques that can help individuals regain calm and control during intense emotional states. This experience was challenging but incredibly rewarding, deepening my understanding of mental health and teaching me how to remain calm and supportive in intense situations.
Beyond my professional experiences, I've also gained practical skills helping in my parents' garden. I've learned a little bit about growing vegetables and helped in renovation projects.
Each of these experiences has shaped me in unique ways. I've become pretty adaptable, always ready to learn something new, and I genuinely enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life. I'm really looking forward to bringing these skills and experiences to new adventures and, above all, to learn something new and grow through exciting challenges.Age
