 - Description- Hi there, I'm Leonie, I'm 24 years old and currently studying medicine in Berlin. As my studies are slowly coming to an end, I’ve decided to hit pause for a moment and take some time off before starting the next chapter. I've always dreamed of going on a biiig solo trip — and now feels like the perfect time to finally make that dream come true. can't wait to start this journey in New Zealand!
I grew up across three countries — Luxembourg, Germany, and France — which is why I’m always itching to experience new cultures and gain fresh perspectives. I find joy in the small moments: the sound of wind in the trees, the strength I feel while swimming or racing on a bike, a bowl of popcorn at the movies, jamming to fave tunes. I’m happiest by the sea, especially after a cold swim, when everything tastes just a little salty. I love studying medicine and I equally love learning about complementary concepts as well; TCM, Mindfulness, breathwork the list goes on and on!
What I’m most looking forward to is spending lots of time outdoors, getting a break from big city life, and slowing things down a little. I’m hoping to find some work opportunities along the way, I like having tasks and getting a job done! At the same time, I see workaway as a great way to get a more authentic and real insight into local life — and I'd love to become part of your everyday rhythm, instead of just rushing from one tourist spot to the next.
I enjoy being around people and love the occasional night out with drinks and good conversation, but I’m just as happy in quiet, cozy settings.
I’m open to all kinds of work — I learn quickly and have a broad range of interests.
I enjoy hands-on tasks, working with animals, or diving into conversations about languages, philosophy, and culture.
I speak German, French, English, and Luxembourgish, and I’m currently learning Italian — I used to love Latin (yes, nerdy, I know). I love anything theatrical and could spend every weekend at the cinema or theater. So if there’s anything creative or performance-related you need help with, I’m all in!
I bring some practical experience from working in gastronomy, a surgical assistant, and have general knowledge in nursing and healthcare. I have basic knowledge’s in gardening and like to get
 my handys dirty.
I've been riding horses since I was three and love working with them or any animals. I also enjoy sailing and try to practice surfing whenever I get the chance, sometimes it can be hard to get me out of the water once I‘m in!
All in all, I’m open to a wide range of experiences and jobs, I would love to learn new skills too!
I like having a bit of personal time and flexibility, but I’m very easygoing, love meeting new people, and adapt well to different lifestyles and rhythms (though I’m definitely more of a morning person than a night owl 😊).
Let me know if you can imagine me becoming a part of your daily life — I’d be excited to hear from you!
