  • Description

I was born and raised in Burlington, Vermont (the unceded ancestral land of the Abenaki people) but have spent pieces of my life in other places, finding homes and connection to the land in many of them. I have traveled extensively across Europe, New Zealand, Nicaragua, and much of the United States (Turle Island) in various ways ranging from backpacking to family home-stays, work trades to van life, and have learned that engaging with people and the projects that light up their minds and hearts is most fulfilling and grounding for me.

I have been engaging with the teachings of plants for many years and am always learning through the season. I have experience with collective gardens, gardening with annual vegetables, as well as perennial and annual medicinals, and simply love to have my hands in the soil. I have been studying herbalism slowly for many year and am practicing herbal medicine in as many ways as I can manage, offering abundant overflow of my medicine cabinets to mutual aid networks and direct action calls.

I took a meandering path through my undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies, concentrating my studies in environmental philosophies, environmental humanities and art practices (thinking especially about materiality practices in art and environmental impacts), and am always deepening my learning. I am curious about restoration ecology, permaculture, anticolonial methodologies, bioregionalism, various healing modalities, fermentation, mushroom identification, abolition, woodworking,

I love doing projects with artistic intentions in a huge range of mediums, including charcoal, collage, acrylic, mosaic, textile, natural building, weaving, sculpture, paper mache, ink, and on and on! I love music and the community and connection it brings with it, and most recently have worked in as a bartender in a small music venue and feel so blessed to have participated in cultivating a space that brings in band for their first ever show, local bands that are building their following, touring bands that are trying to make it and surprisingly big indie names. I love films, especially 70s dystopian and sci-fi with those old time special effects, and have a few visions for films I would like to make someday such as: strange dreamworld large puppet films, or a script dialogue written only from excerpts my angsty journals from when I was 17 and 18. I also adore books and the worlds they offer a dive into, the knowledge they provide access to and am a big believer in giving books away when I think it is time for someone I know to have it in their life.

I hold deep appreciation for the times of immense growth in my life and for the friends who have taught me to verbalize emotion, insecurity, fear, and love. So much of that has come from meeting people who have been shaped by different contexts and finding our connection points through varied lives.

I am open and hardworking and would absolutely love to be a part of the communities wonderful folks are cultivating with intention, respect for the land and creatures with whom we share space and habitat with, and connection with each other's humanity and experience of these lives.
