Hi!
I am Lauren from western Canada (Vancouver & Calgary to be more specific)!
After graduating university and working for a couple of years I decided to uproot my life and leave North America for the first time! I am now exploring Western Europe and Morocco.
Living surrounded by the ocean, mountains, and lakes has made me especially appreciative of any outdoor adventure! I love discovering the similarities and differences across our landscapes. Whenever possible, I look forward to a cold plunge or swim.
Travelling has been incredible, however, I would like to slow down and have routine while I explore. I have previously worked in childcare (ages 4-17), the service industry as a hostess and server, and as a mechanical engineer primarily working in the biomedical field.
Although I may not have much farming experience I would thoroughly enjoy working outside and learning new skills - I would like to think of myself as a hard worker that could catch on quickly.

I have a bachelors degree in Engineering and have worked as a practicing Mechanical Engineer for the last two years. Although most of my studies and experience are comprised of theoretical research and product development, I am resourceful and have strong problem solving abilities. If you require any CAD modeling I'm the person for you!
For more relevant experience, I worked in the service industry as a hostess and server throughout school. I enjoy team environments where I can socialize and help people feel included/welcome. I also worked for multiple summer camps where I taught and supervised children age 4-17.
I value being active and would be a strong asset for any manual work outdoors, whether this be gardening, building, etc.
I am really looking forward to gaining new skills and experiences so I am open to any opportunity that will challenge and teach.

What else ...
As mentioned, I have started learning Spanish on Duolingo and am hoping to take it more seriously.
In good old Canadian fashion I grew up playing hockey. Ice can be hard to come by so any team sport will do.
I love any and all card games! Grew up in a games family so I adore how sitting around a table and a deck of cards can bring people together so quickly.
Since travelling I have gained a new found love of history! I was always more of a Math/Science kid growing up so I have much to learn.
