  • Description

Hello! After spending a few months travelling I’ve lived the last 17 months in Vietnam, Hoi An, and I have loved it! I love Vietnam, the culture, the food, the people and the language.

I have been teaching English across different age groups for the length of my time here in Vietnam. I have gained a lot personally from my experience teaching English but mostly I have loved spending time with the kids!

I'm now really craving to be closer to nature. My ideal location is somewhere a little off the path where I can really feel a part of nature and that I am contributing to the natural environment not just consuming. My first choice is to be on a farm where I can be active and physically contribute whilst learning about agricultural practices.

I would then love to work on community projects that support the environment or empower children/young people/women/ less advantaged minority groups.

I want to continue learning languages which is a new passion of mine and I’m really excited to have more genuine cultural experiences and exchange, particularly in smaller/remote areas of the world.

Back home I worked for a UK charity called School-Home Support, the mission was to get children in school, whatever it takes. My role was organising events, managing and delivering learning and development, and project managing and delivering our mental health and equality, diversity and inclusion projects.

Separately , As a coach I delivered a really thoughtful and fun 4-week public speaking course to adults which was all about learning to connect deeper with others.

I love to camp, dance, make new friends and enjoy and explore nature.

I am really looking forward to starting my workaway adventures, having authentic experiences and giving back :-)

  • More details about your skills

I have good experience with people, I am a fantastic verbal and written communicator and build relationships with people easily. I genuinely love learning about people’s life experiences and have a very easy going and friendly manner.

I teach public speaking to groups of adults in a very fun and creative way, including lots of games and personal development activities and reflections. This makes me a great candidate for teaching adults and children, and more generally has taught me how to build relationships with lots of different types of people.

I worked for an education charity facilitating workshops on mental health and well-being, as well as writing up articles and social media posts for them. I also created and designed many packs and brochures for my organisation if you need some simple design work (though it’s not my specialism I can create some nice looking posts/graphics for you using canva).

Part of my job was to coordinate all events, both online and in person (of up to 100 people) so I have great experience in event management from planning through to execution and evaluation.

I studied anthropology at university which is the study of humans. I find culture, tradition, and different ways of living fascinating so can’t wait to get out and meet/live and work with people from around the world!

I am also eager to do any hands on DIY work, though I haven’t experience here and I am very willing to learn.
