Description

Hi, I'm Chang, 32, originally from China. Over the past few years, I've lived in Italy for five years, South America for seven months, and the US for four months.

Languages & Cultural Background
-Languages: Native Mandarin, fluent English, intermediate Italian, and beginner Spanish (still actively learning!).
- I am certified by the Confucius Institute to teach Chinese as a foreign language. With a background as a former book editor (having published over 20 titles), my Chinese is at a professional editorial level.
- I’ve translated Italian TV series and film subtitles, as well as translated two English books into Chinese for publication in China.

Education & Projects
- Background: I hold a B.S. in Chemistry from Beijing Institute of Technology and am currently finishing my Architecture degree at Politecnico di Milano (taught in Italian, one year to graduation). I also completed an exchange program at Universidad de Chile (taught in Spanish).
- Conversational version: I'm always happy to share my passion and knowledge in architecture, art history, natural sciences, world literature, and diverse cultures from my travels.
- Workaway (Morocco & Tunisia): Handcrafted traditional mud bricks in the Sahara; managed daily farm chores and assisted in cabin construction on a family farm.
- Archaeology & Heritage Restoration (Bulgaria & Romania): Participated in archaeological excavations and hands-on historic building conservation.
- Handicraft: I run a small online shop in China selling scented candles that I design and handcraft myself.

- Global & Curious: I’ve traveled to 52 countries and consider myself an open-minded global citizen who adapts quickly to new environments.
- Independent & Practical: I grew up helping care for my blind mother and have lived independently for 12 years. I’m tidy, proactive, and very comfortable handling all kinds of household chores and family needs.
- Kids & Pets: I love children and animals. While I don't have kids of my own, I treat them with warm, sibling-like energy. I have two cats back home and regularly pet-sit for neighbors and friends traveling through Italy.
- Cooking: I love preparing tasty, homemade meals—especially Chinese home cooking and world fusion dishes.
