  • Description

    Hi there!

I grew up in the large metropolitan area of Montréal and discovered the wonders of agriculture on a year abroad in New Zealand. From then on I saw an ideal future for myself in self-sustaining community life. On my return to Montréal, I aimed to make the dream a reality by first enrolling in an agriculture program at Concordia University (cancelled due to covid), completing a course in beekeeping and joining a community of urban beekeepers to maintain 2 hives in the city for the 2020 season.

During the 2021 season, I built on my beekeeping and self-sufficiency skills on a homestead in Ontario, Canada.

Through covid I self-taught myself Korean to a basic conversational level and in 2022, I used those skills to visit Korea and learn their traditional methods of organic agriculture.

In 2023, I began the year by teaching English to school children in South Korea and then went back to New Zealand to spend another 4 months at the ecovillage where I began this journey over 4 years prior. There I worked on gardens and cooking duties. After 2 more months of hiking and travelling around, I went back to South Korea to spend an extended time at a Workaway I visited before - splitting time between a small-scale organic farm and helping a local Buddhist community with their large organic farm.

As of 2024, I am briefly visiting Taiwan.

My motivations are to gather as many skills as possible in order to be a valuable member of a self-sustaining community and potentially start my own project one day! My main interests at the moment are Korean language and history, beekeeping, organic and greenhouse agriculture. I am a dedicated worker and eager to learn everything you have to offer!

I look forward to meeting you!

  • What else ...

Hiking is one of my favourite activities! I'd like to think I'm very experienced and qualified in that type of environment. I've done a few long-distance hikes so far, a couple notable ones are the 14-day East Coast Trail in Newfoundland and the 50-day Baekdudaegan in South Korea. Some of my happiest and most difficult moments have come from these times. I look forward to doing many more in the future!

I realised that I am most passionate on projects with multiple volunteers or with hosts that are actively engaged in the projects that I'm working on.

Looking forward to gaining the most practical experience possible :)
