Travelling
Activities i am interested in:
I travel to explore local food culture. I love art. I love nature. I love working as a Workawayer. I want to live in Japan as long as possible.
My next destination:
Japan - from Mar 2025 until Jun 2025 View allDescription
I have found Workaway for May and June. Now my availability in Japan is ARPIL.
It's a whole month and I am flexible, so I could fly to Korea or another country.
-------------------------------------
I am a rather quiet person (but not cold), a tiny little bit shy (but also brave), and generally rather modest - writing about myself feels a little bit embarrassing, but it's an important part of such websites. So let it be a bit boastful.
Travel is my lifestyle. I have work opportunities back at home: my family runs a small company (bookstore), I have friends in film/photography business, in tourism and in media, but I prefer to live on the road in the search of peace of mind and inspiration. Languages, cultures, food, art, cinema, mountains, museums - the list of the things I love is long.
I enjoy both the urban jungle environment and the bosom of nature, including harsh conditions. My travels encompassed long stays on deserts and dense forests, long treks and mountain climbing, solitary journeys and group trips.
I taught English in China and Korea, helped on olive harvest in Croatia and Italy, picked grapes in France, volunteered on cemetery reparations in Georgia, helped with a garden in Mexico, worked on archeo digging, nature conservation fieldwork, meadow mowing, etc. Some time ago (times long gone), I was an amateur filmmaker and made several (mediocre) short films which were screened on festivals around the world.
I run a foodie/travel/photography-themed blog.
I am an absolute cinephile and I watch simply everything: arthouse and mainstream, auteur and genre, classic and contemporary, fiction and docu; animation, experimental, b-moviez, indies, Bollywood, Hollywood, World Cinema.Interests

Apart from English, I'm fluent in Polish, quite-good-but-not-perfect in Russian, Mandarin, Italian, French and Spanish. I am learning Japanese now. Linguistics is my passion, I tried learning many other languages not listed above and I read a lot about comparative linguistics and so on. As for my Chinese, I know some basics, then I lack some basics... - but on top of that I have a good knowledge of the contexts and culture. I lost it now, but I used to surprise Chinese friends with rare terms, geographical names, trivia. So I'd say I'm both beginner AND advanced, (with "intermediate" being the least fitting term, even if it comes exactly between "beginner" and "advanced"). I started learning French 20+ years ago and although very slowly - I am improving it. I spent 6 months in Italy and a total of about a year months in Spanish speaking countries. Learning Italian and Spanish comes with ease and is a big pleasure. In recent year I spent quite a lot of time in Mexico, so Spanish is probably my third language at the moment. I love exchanging language knowledge and helping others in learning.Skills and knowledge I'd like to share or learn

More details about your skills
My priority as a Workawayer are outdoor jobs, but I am open to any kind of challenge.
Apart from managing our small family-run bookstore and running its website, I worked with camera, realized numerous individual film/travel projects, worked with children, lead workshops (mainly filmmaking, both in Polish and English), worked as an English teacher for some time, and did physical work as well (nature conservation fieldwork, meadow mowing, toilful cemetery reparations, etc.). My past experiences also include olive harvest and pruning, as well as grape harvest for example. I love working outdoors!
I write and photograph and have some basic drawing skills (very basic, don't expect too much please). Audiovisual equipment is not a mystery to me. I am no informatician, but I am quite good with computers and Internet. Though I'm not an educated chef, people keep saying that my cooking is good.Age
