Hola! My name is Karin.
I was a full time traveller for 4 years and am very happy to have found each other!
My ideal of life is to live with an open heart while sharing my natural abilities and joy and learning about all the encounters on the path.
My values are integrity, gratitude, temperance, honesty and optimism.
I am inspired by nature, art, balance, harmony, empathy, equity, kindness, music, human connection.
What brings me happiness: true connection with nature, music, art, plants, water, movement. The chance of travelling and choosing. Doing something productive and useful for others, myself and the planet, feeling balanced, grateful and in inner peace.
How others see me: very enthusiastic, creative, brave with a big heart.
How I see myself: super creative, passionate for life, confident, kind, sensible, deep.
What do I want to do in the next months: I want to use my skills to connect with other well-intentioned human beings who share my same values. I want to broaden my abilities and use the ones I have the best I can. I want to deepen in my art and connection with nature.
What makes me so happy is to dance, to sing, to connect with communities, to share my gifts and learn from others. There is a lot of magic that happens what travelling, and it comes with having an open heart. That's how I perceive coming to your place! As a magical encounter, and I am open to share and listen.
My biggest skill and what I can offer to you, your project, community or family is my creativity and push. I have the skill to give a push to anyone needed, to give energy, with new ideas, innovation and creativity. I can put my hands to work with a lot of joy and power when is needed and when the purpose inspires me. May it be through art, painting, organising, photography, ideas, creativity etc... there's always a way.

My interests:
-Music! I play piano, guitar and I sing! I absolutely love music and collect songs from all over the world.
-Art! Painting, I love it, is my passion. I can paint anything, from clothes to huge walls. I can effortlessly paint and create. I absolutely love this. If you have any idea on creating an art design in your place, i'm your girl.
-Languages! I speak already 3 very good, I would like to share and learn more!
-Water! I love sailing in peaceful environments, kayak, swimming, everything to do with water. I want to learn more about it. I love the ocean and the sea.
-Nature! I enjoy being in nature a lot! Hiking too and singing in the mountains.
-Nutrition and Medicine! The magic of plants, natural medicine, nutrition, routines, all of this is so interesting to me!
-Movement! Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Yoga, contact dancing, walking etc... I have practised them all and would like to keep doing that and learn more!

My dream is to paint many murals all around the globe and give a push to inspiring projects through them. Art that opens door, doors that bring together.

I also work online doing web design for many kinds of different project! My favourite one are the ones related with social, cultural or environmental causes. I enjoy helping in making peoples dreams become visible!

We left the jungle feeling absolutely different from when we arrived.

I leave with an amazingly full heart. I had no expectations; I was just thankful for the opportunity of experiencing what is living in a community and being received in Corona times. For my surprise, what I found was an amazingly net of loving and brilliant people (including the volunteers) with whom I connected really well. Maybe it was good… read more luck, maybe another thing, but something magical happened there, a magical synchrony. I am very grateful. Now I know a bit of what it is to live in a community (short term), their challenges, benefits, nuances, but most important, I know the precious thing that is to live with other people who complement, support, and nourish each other. I felt really supported and I hope I brought something good too.
This is a Gasthof which was adapted to be the house of different families and today individuals who form a multicultural community. Around 20 people live there now, they are very organised, and it is a house full of life surrounded by beautiful nature (also in winter). The food come from food-sharing which is a great and interesting concept. There are plenty options where to be involved, for example: the garden, the jam sessions, the workshop, the excursions to the lake or the mountains, the walks in the snow and the wood, many creative sessions (we made some painting ones and music ones too), play nights, singing circles, ceremonies (we had some wonderful cacao ceremonies and full moon) etc... Just talking with others is a wonderful experience.
The work is organised and clear. We work 4-5 hours a day for 5 days. They respect the Workaway rules and care for the volunteers. There is plenty of food, activities, love and support. They are constantly trying to improve what can be improved. As a volunteer I felt supported at any time and also felt the work was fair. We mostly did house maintenance tasks, cooking, and some creative tasks (my task once was to do a birth house and that was great).
The interaction with the other volunteers was wonderful! We had the luck to really match with each other. (I wish you the same if you are planning to go there 😊, it is a great place) And the connections with some habitants was also amazing. I learned and grew a lot.
Well, I can just say... Querido, liebe wunderfalle Menschen die es bilden, dear volunteer wonderful friends: thank you.
I recommend it to everyone who is thinking in going. If you are open (in heart and mind), a bit crazy, kind and honest I think you will have a great time here and be of benefit.

Since I arrived I was received with a very warm, human and sincere approach from Safia and Ian. Both are brilliant human beings. They are so inspiring, strong, mature, wise, respectful, honest, creative and crazy! With both feet on earth they guide us to create a world and space where creativity and imagination could flow. They treat all of us equally with a lot of care and equanimity. They have big and good hearts, they care about the others, they are compassionate and are always looking to help with skilful means.

We (all volunteers) stayed in a separate house where we shared everything, the goal was to be a team, and it became a family! In regard to food, wow, I appreciate a lot all the care. I was nervous because I was eating vegan, but the love was there and the support too. All that Safia cooked (which was so delicious) and all we made in the house was made considering everyone. All of us had something to eat, and it was very harmonious! I am very thankful! I always appreciate all the food I receive, but here every meal was made with such love that made me appreciate it even more!

The work was really fair, and what is so special about this experience are Safia's skillfull means. She could identify our strengths, tastes, weaknesses and talents, and she adapted the work to our abilities. In result, everyone was making great things and enjoying it so much! I was giving many tasks that had to do with painting, creating new crafts and ideas, organizing, decorating, making web design and obviously working with the visitors (kids and adults) in the workshop helping them to expand their creativity, confidence and imagination. I enjoyed everything! Specially painting! When I arrived I felt that I had ignored my artistic side for so long, that I could not paint any more. I am so happy to say that thanks to this experience I could make peace with that side and my artistic part exploded again! I feel more alive, happy and so grateful!! Thanks for giving me the chance!!

I want to go back and retribute more! They are already making such a huge impact on many lives, and they have all the impulse to go further and help more! Incredible humans.

Thank you so much Safia and Ian for what you are doing! For opening your hearts to me, for receiving me, for your kindness, honesty, equanimity and for sharing! I loved hearing all your stories and laughing so much! Both of you are doing it right because you are following your hearts and that is the most inspiring thing!
I hope to find you again in the future. Well, as altruism is already so rooted in our mind and motivations, I am sure we will!
