~ Currently staying long term around Tarifa ~

Hola, we are Thijs (40) and Karin (29) from Holland. Karin is a small girl and Thijs a tall men (2.01 meters). We have been in a long relationship and are now best friends and best travel buddies.

Last summer (2022) we decided to follow our hearts. We sold our stuff & houses and quit our jobs. Holland has become a clowns world, mainly due to it's government. We just don’t fit in, each in our own way. No rat race for us anymore.

We love driving off-road, wild camping and enjoying peaceful environments. We really wanted to make a living of it. We have bought an old 4x4 expedition truck, which is also our house now: a smelly and loudy Magirus Deutz V6 from 1977.

We don’t have an exact plan where to go and for how long. We try to open up and we’ll see what will pass by. We both know we want to go somewhere where the sun is shining. We love nature and we are obviously outdoor people.

For us it is important to connect with ourselves, with others and with nature. We focus on deepening our awareness. We try to slow down, learn to observe, listen, and love what we do in each moment.

We alternate driving with wildcamping for a few days, somewhere in the middle of nowhere, preferably the forest. So now and then we want to visit a Workaway to help, meet people and exchange experiences. We will stay a few days up to a few weeks, depending on how it works out and/or feels for both.

Thijs is a strong handyman and full of extraordinary solutions. Karin is a quiet but caring girl, loving to assist wherever possible. We have a lot of common sense and a good attitude to learn. See more in the textbox skills.

We have our own place to sleep, equipped with solar power. We only need a parking space for a vehicle about 8 meters long and about 3.50 meters high. As it is a 4x4, we get really excited when your approaching road is a challenge!

In addition to the Workaway-help, we also have a few offers.

* A handstand and / or arm balances course from Thijs (all-levels);
* (Active) yoga classes from Thijs (all-levels);
* Private swimming coaching (5 years - 99+) from Karin (not able to swim at all to advanced swimming for technically tips).
* Thijs is also a certified massage therapist, mostly focused on relaxing massages for the whole body (60 minutes) or just (a combination of) parts like only head, neck, back, legs, etc. In the sorting process of stuff to take in our truck, the massage table survived every round, so it better be used!
Thijs has big and strong hands, and can connect very well, so tell your preferences!

We think we can do and make everything together with you, even unskilled. If one way doesn't work, we will find another solution.

This are our preference skills:

He: making things handy, just fixing things. Like gates, fences, wooden things. Chopping wood, making fire, handle heavy machinery, gardening, creative solutions. He is a very good driver.
* Able to give massages.
* Able to give yoga, acro-yoga & handstand classes.
* Certified yoga teacher (2023).

She: cleaning, organizing, gardening, detail-things, assisting within a lot of tasks, playing with- and taking care of animals and their shelters.
* Loves dog walking.
* Passionated about swimming and swimming pools.
* Able to give private swimming classes to learn (better) swimming.
* Bachelor degree / diploma in Sports Education (sport-lifestyle coach, 2015).
* Interested in learning more about training animals (for example: horsemanship / dog communication / herding / dog agility training / coaching sled dogs / animal whispering etc.)

To be honest, we both suck in good cooking and board games...
