Description
Hello I am Jessica! I am a friendly, outgoing adventurer who is loving life travelling the world and experiencing new cultures! I have a strong passion for trying to keep healthy, loving animals and doing all the things i dream of.
I have a Bachelors degree's in International Politics and a Masters degree in Health and development. My main interests are in animal health, health equity/projects, eco-projects and sustainability. I love to write and also have experience working for and with big organisations like the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Oxfam and would love to bring this knowledge to smaller projects working in sustainability etc. I feel like these organisations often lack knowledge of indigenous or local contexts. I think we should all try and be better at acknowledging this.
I have also written a lot articles on culture, dance and ritual so also love to join in with arts projects.
I really really want to learn some more practical skills such as gardening, DIY and building. Therefore, I would love to swap some of my desk-based knowledge for those!
Hopefully we can meet soon :)Interests

More details about your skills
I am experienced in looking after animals, especially training dogs from puppies. I have worked extensively within the catering industry including managerial roles. I also have experience working with young school children, particularly within the arts sector. Dancing and art are both passions of mine in which i love to share with others! I am educated to a postgraduate degree standard.
I have so far done four work-away experiences, the first was in a dog sanctuary in Thailand and the second working with a Berber family in the Moroccan desert. The third was a dog rescue in Morocco (I continue to work with this charity to this day). My fourth was at a community project in Palestine. All were incredibly amazing experiences for me and I hope to continue using work-away for a very long time.Age

Thank you for a lovely two weeks. Paco is an absolute chiller and very laid back. Workaway here will feel like an equal mix of relaxation and activity. I really enjoyed being amidst the jungle, seeing animals like snakes, tarantulas, monkeys and of course, his two dogs Mochi and Kala. (Don’t worry, the creepy… read more

Funny and open minded. Doesn't mind getting stuck in to the horrible jobs. Easy to communicate with and hard working. Aside from all this, im glad to call you my mate. See you soon. x
Lucy is not only an amazing friend, person and leader of this organisation, but she is also the best friend of the dogs and cats in her care.
