  • Description

I am a friendly, outgoing individual with a positive outlook on life. I have always lived in a town called Bath in the south west of England, and now I'm eager to explore the world beyond my small circle! I love being active and exploring nature, particularly walking and by bike. I am excited to meet new people, see new places, and immerse myself in different cultures. I am also passionate about learning languages, and after studying A level French and doing a language exchange, I am keen to continue practicing my French, and to learn other languages. Overall, I want to travel the world for the amazing experiences, and to better myself by gaining a wider perspective on the world!

More details about my language interests
I discovered my passion for learning about and immersing myself in new cultures through studying French at A level. I found exploring and becoming part of a community using my ability to communicate there incredibly rewarding, alongside the fun in learning a new language. Having finished my A levels, I know my language learning will not stop here. I would love to explore language through helping others with their English, and I would love to learn someone else's language too!

  • More details about your skills

My 2 years experience working in customer facing roles have hugely developed my skills in working with customers. My confidence and friendly personality help me to excel in this area, and I thoroughly enjoy positions working with others. Furthermore, working in a team of adults has led me to mature and developed my communication skills, making me well equipped to fit in with a new team on a Workaway project.

Having always enjoyed looking after children, I was eager to start babysitting from a young age. At the age of 14 I began babysitting for local families, and since then I have done many childcare jobs ranging from all day care to evening babysitting. Furthermore, I volunteered for 3 months at a local youth cycling club, helping to lead groups of around 15 children, aged roughly 7-11 years old. This built my confidence in leading groups, and highlighted my patience and listening skills. Overall, I love working with children and it is one of my strengths, therefore a position in this area would suit me well.

I've always been active, and spent a few years of my life as a competitive cyclist, racing at up to national level in circuit races. I have also always enjoyed cycle touring in new countries with my family, camping and staying in hostels. To add to this, I love hiking, and often use walking as a way to explore new places. I therefore would feel comfortable leading groups on outdoor activities such as walks or bike rides. On top of this, having travelled solo and with friends in several countries, staying in hostels, am used to planning trips and I understand what backpacking involves from a personal perspective. This leaves me in a good position to help others doing the same.

Finally, my A level exam results of A*, A*, A, B in Psychology, French, Biology, and Core Maths, reflect my hard working nature and intellectual ability. I took a great interest in my education and worked hard towards my exams, a mindset I will now apply to the tasks I am appointed on a Workaway project. Additionally, during my studies I consistently used technology, so I am competent as using systems such as Excel, Word, Email etc.

Most importantly I am just an open minded person, ready to get my hands dirty and get fully invested in new experiences. As a fast learner and motivated individual, I know I will be a hard working helper wherever I may end up!
