  • Description

    Hello there,

I, Jonathan (27) have made a decision and am now going to take some time for myself!

The last 2 years were very exciting and have brought many changes for me. To gather myself and to let the happend sink in - I am searching for a time off. I wish to have refreshing encounters and hope to see new places to inspire me. As a solo traveler, I enjoy the independence of my decisions - like directions and destinations. However, to ensure that being alone does not become loneliness, I search for places where a true sense of community exists as well as appreciation and open-mindness is meaningful.

At home in Germany, I work as a self-employed experiential educator. During this activity I accompany people on their path of personal development while they face new challenges, preferably in nature. With my job I was able to combine two things that fill me with pure joy: working with humans and spending time in nature. I love being outside and I am full of energy and adventurousness for outdoor activities. I want to get close to people and their lived realities of life and hope to learn new things about myself and others. I feel a real sense of well-being, when people are authentic and share emotions with each other.

Long walks in the woods and campfire evenings are for me absolute quality time. I cultivate an appreciative nature and am interested in people and their stories. Attentive listening suits me better than extensive telling.

Little things in life that make me happy:

    -Reading in the hammock
    -colorful interior with wood
    -hikes without a destination
    -hearty laughter
    -sunrises and afterglow
-wafts of fog in the forest
-listening to stories around the campfire
    -spontaneity
    -live music and singing
    -meeting wild animals
    -juice and chocolate
-view of mountains in the distance
    -when people grow beyond themselves
    -children playing
    - etc..

    Professional trainings:
    - Apprenticeship and work experience as an industrial mechanic.
    - academic degree in environmental sciences and meteorology.
    - Work experience as a scientific assistant at a research institution.
    - Systemic training in experiential and environmental education.

After finishing my school career, I took different paths one after the other and was able to gain a wide range of experience. Growing up next to my grandparents' farm, I enjoyed helping them with their work when I was young. Therefore, I got used to dirty work at an early age and have no fear of contact with animals. After school I completed an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic which took me several years. Through the training I learned to take responsibility and I am skilled in the use of mechanical tools.

During a work and travel stay in New Zealand I was able to gain work experience in:
    - Fruit harvesting and tree care
    - landscape maintenance
    - Gardening and planting
    - traffic management

After my return I studied environmental sciences and meteorology. Besides my studies, I worked as a research assistant at a research institution at the department of forest protection. During regular field work, I had to do physically demanding and persevering work. The daily work routine required the ability to work in a team.

Through my training as an experiential educator, I was able to gain qualifications in group leadership and process-oriented work with individuals. In the past year, I have developed further experience in guiding groups out in nature. In my current self-employment as an experiential educator, I offer wilderness-oriented modules such as bushcrafting, fire making, and survival strategies.
