  • Description

Hello! I started my 3 years wordtrip on November 2023. i quit my job for that long time because I want to travel without a plan and don’t be in a hurry.

I'm 37 years old, originally from Poland, and I've lived in Germany since I was three. In Germany, I work as a teacher for children who have special needs, which means I teach children with autism, children with Down syndrome, and also hearing-impaired and blind children. Especially with such kind of children you work with a small team, and I pay particular attention to ensuring that my students form a team and support each other. Therefore, I enjoy working in a team and can adapt very well to different types of people.

The most important thing while traveling for me is to learn about the culture, religion, food, mindset, life in different countries. The best and authentically way to learn about those things is to stay with locals and learn from them. In the past I had a lot of Couchsurfing opportunities, but now I have time to stay longer at a place.
My passion is cycling, hiking, talking, cooking, protecting the environment and drawing.
Happy makes me a delicious meal and having interesting conversations.

I'm not a typical backpacker. Since I've taken more time off, I stay in every country for at least three months and usually with families (through the Couchsurfing app). For me, traveling means, among other things, getting to know people from all over the world and exchanging life stories.

Update June 2025/ My experience with Workaway:

On my travels, I'm making extensive use of Couchsurfing/Workaway to gain authentic insight into the culture and lives of the locals. I have experience with woodworking. For example, last winter I spent two months in Japan and helped renovate a ski lodge. My tasks included building the roof trusses, renewing the staircase and railings, and constructing furniture and a sauna. I built the walls using the traditional Shikkui technique (a Japanese trowel technique for walls made of natural concrete).
During my trip in Sri Lanka, I worked on a tea farm and did gardening, so I don't mind getting my hands dirty.

My experience since 2 years traveling:

I'm very adventurous and have already hiked many beautiful places around the world (the Himalayas in Nepal, some long-distance trails in Europe, a pilgrimage in Japan, skiing in Nagano).
cycling in Thailand, Taiwan, Laos, Malaysia, India, Japan.
My last adventure was a two-month tour with my bicycle 🚴🏽‍♀️through Sri Lanka.
