  • Description

I am a 21 year old college student from the Front range in Colorado. I am taking some time off of school to feed my wanderlust and experience a new culture before I finish my degree. I love to do anything in the outdoors, and love to try new things to expand my skills. I am studying philosophy and anthropology in school and am ready to learn and immerse myself in a new culture. I am happiest when I am out in the sun, talking to new people and stepping out of my comfort zone. I hope to learn some new languages so when I graduate I can go anywhere, see everything and meet anyone I possibly can. I spent two weeks in Guatemala in a cultural exchange program when I was 17 and loved every second of it, so I am hoping to return soon. I am very adventure and nature oriented, so I can be set up with any project and I will be content.

  • More details about your skills

Creative projects and hospitality are what I am best at, although I am very adaptable and am willing to learn just about anything that comes my way. I have been working in a grocery store in the produce department for the past couple of years, so I am not afraid to dive into physical labor. I love to indulge the more creative parts of my personality into my work, and take ownership in everything I do! I commit to my projects and work hard and can manage my time to ensure I get all of my tasks done. I participated in student exchange in Guatemala for a couple of weeks where I worked on construction projects and coffee bean farming. I would love to dive into a ecological project and am very interested in possibly learning to farm and garden and just anything to spend time working outdoors. I have ample experience in customer care and hospitality having multiple years of experience as a cashier and server, including work in childcare and elder care as I was a Certified Nursing Assistant in Colorado. I have a basic background in Spanish but I am a quick learner and immersion in any language is the fastest way to learn. I am a responsible reliable worker who takes initiative and am not afraid to delegate tasks and take on leadership projects and extra responsibilities.

  • What else ...

When I graduate college I would love to travel through workaway for a while to see the world and learn new cultures and languages, afterwhich I am hoping to join the Peace Corp. I hoping that a workaway experience in my time off from school will help me grow my drive in getting out to see the world. I have been dreaming of learning to surf for about a decade now, and living in a landlocked state in the US makes that sort of difficult so I am hoping to grow this skill down in Central America. I would love to look into sustainable farming projects and homestays as everything I can do to improve our standard of living in this climate crisis is a strong interest of mine. I want to immerse myself in a new culture, as I have found through experience and studies that it brings a much broader perspective on life and the world form there on out, and I love to learn new things about myself and others in the world.
