Description
I've lived in the lake district most of my life with my parents and three older siblings. I love working hard to see progression and watching things develop, whether that be skills or projects. Contributing towards something bigger than me is really motivating, especially so if I can do it in the outdoors. Helping others has always been incredibly rewarding and sharing experiences with new people excites me.

I've always enjoyed making things, and from a young age spent lots of time in a workshop welding and fabricating as well as blacksmithing and working with wood. I've built a wide variety of furniture such as a bed, multiple desks and coffee tables as well as garden benches. Doing art at school enabled me to use my building skills to create sculptures, I pursued this further after school and created a welded steel eagle for a local sculpture trail. The year after I finished my A levels I worked for a company in Derbyshire who predominantly fit fires but also do a wide range of construction work such as rebuilding chimney stacks, lead work on roofs, fencing, stone masonry and metal fabrication. I really enjoyed learning these skills and working on a large variety of houses, it also enabled me to work on my parents garden building a new fence relaying steps and a patio once I came home. I've worked for an events company putting up marquees for the cape wrath ultra marathon in the north of Scotland and the dragons back in Wales, fast paced work in atrocious weather was a challenge but super fun and had the opportunity to meet lots of likeminded outdoorsy people. I've now finished two years of engineering at university so have gained knowledge of engineering maths and physics and would love to apply some of this to sustainable projects .
