More details about your skills
I have worked for years in construction companies, last two years as a project manager/technical drawer for a smaller eco-friendly timber framing company. I'm educated as a Civil engineer (Architectural).
When I lived in Belgium I used to help out every week at a wildlife sanctuary. We mainly had small wildlife like hedgehogs, chipmunks, doves and falcons,... but from time to time we encountered deer, foxes or a wild boar. Apart from that, we host some larger birds of prey, and until recently a population of arctic foxes.
The last year I've been travelling (on a working holiday visa) through New-Zealand. There I had some workaway experience. One was at an animal sanctuary for farm animals. Here I did the feeding/cleaning rounds and basic care for the animals combined with some maintenance jobs. On another occasion I stayed with an elderly couple to help them with general jobs around the house, garden maintenance, repair jobs,... Apart from those experiences I worked at a campground over summer doing housekeeping in our cottages in the morning and caring for our guests and getting check-ins/reservations handled in the afternoon. In between I used to do some general upkeep/maintenance of the buildings/grounds.
I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and pick up skills quite easily. Always interested to learn new skills/improve the ones I have.
Additionally I
- Completed 1 year of woodworking evening classes.
- I do some maintenance jobs on my bicycle and motorcycle in my free time.
- Have been a swimming teacher for ten years before I started travelling. I also like to help my younger brother and sister when they are stuck on some schoolwork.
- Skilling up on my outdoor skills at the moment. Have made quite a few camping trips already but still hungry for more.
- During education I used a lot of different computer programs and got some programming classes. I'm not exactly a programmer but would say I know my way around computers for day to day problems.
- Other interests are (wildlife)photography and (as I suppose for everyone here) travelling. Also would like to increase my knowledge of ecologically-responsible natural building/…
- Less useful skills: Unicycle riding and a bit of juggling (not simultaneously - yet)Age
30
