Nice to meet you! I'm Jeanne, a 24 years old french girl. I live in Chamonix, France.
On work holidays, my favorite way to travel is by volunteering (this is why I chose this website ^^).
I am curious, cheerful, always happy to meet new people and to exchange with them (I think it's one of the best thing when you are travelling).
I have done 7 workaways so far, in dog shelters, farms, ranches (as you can guess, I love animals).
I have skills in taking care of animals (from feeding to cleaning), building fences, babysitting, gardening, cooking, etc.
I speak English fluently.

I could spend hours (or lines) telling you how awesome this workaway is. I’ve spent one month there, and it went really fast.
I would try to stay short, but one thing you should now is :
If you are looking for a place where it feels like you are home because of how welcoming the people are, and at the same time you get to experience the life in a… read more farm in Canada, with all the cool (and sometimes physical) work that goes with it, it is definitely the place for you.
Now I will go further into the details of why this Workaway is really fantastic.
First, you will get to meet Dan and Angela, and I can tell you that you will never have another opportunity to meet people as kind and generous as they are. They taught me so many things and they took time to answer all my questions (and I had a lot of them haha).
They are also the most welcoming people I have ever had the chance to meet. From day one, they made me feel at home.
By coming to the farm, you will also have the opportunity to taste Angela's wonderful food, and you definitely don’t want to miss it! It’s like eating at the restaurant every day, and the icing on the cake… you will eat dessert two times a day (I am dreaming about one of Angela brownies right now haha).
Dan will also teach you a lot. Every occasion to work with him in the garage is an occasion to learn something valuable.
We got our little routine at the farm, and every evening we were playing a board game, and enjoying a series or a movie. We had a lot of fun together.
Let's talk a little more about work and animals...
The number of animals on the farm varies with the seasons, the tasks as well. I was there in November, that is to say the beginning of winter.
You will get to feed the animals, put water for them, clean from time to time if needed. There are so many different things that can be done that I won't list them all, but the one thing you need to know is that you will never be bored on the farm and will have the opportunity to learn a lot, and to spend time with really cute animals.
Depending on the time of year you come to the farm, you may be able to experience the birth of lambs or chicks. On my side, I had the opportunity to witness the first days of life of Norman, the calf, and it was really incredible!
One more thing: The farm is located in the mountains, and the surroundings are really beautiful. You will have the opportunity to go walking around the farm, with Angela, and her dogs. I was there at the time when there was snow and it was gorgeous.
I could go on, but I will stop before I write a novel.
