Hello! I am very excited to join Workaway as I am coming to France for seven months on a Working Holiday Visa from may to December. I am 33 years old and will be travelling by myself. When I learned about Workaway and the opportunity to help individuals or families on their project, I knew I had to apply.

Although I have worked for the Canadian government over the past 3 years, I am excited to get back into more hands-on work while perfecting my French. I am not a stranger to hard work having worked on a corn farm in southwestern Ontario and a metal stamping factory as well. Although I have no professional experience on home renovations, I have painted houses before and assisted friends by providing general labour on their own personal home improvement projects. I am a quick learner and would love to assist others in their projects whether its housework, gardening, home renovations, etc. I look forward to hearing back from you!

I have experience working on a corn farm in Southwestern Ontario detasseling corn (removing tassels at top of plant to prevent unwanted pollination and encourage the plant to produce pure hybrid seeds) and providing general labour. I also worked in a metal stamping factory while I was in university. Although I would be happy and willing to assist with general labour, I am a quick learner and welcome the opportunity to apply myself to new tasks. If I can be provided with a little direction, I can pick up on what needs to be done and work independently if need be. I am not a stranger to hard work and welcome the opportunity to learn something new!

Jason stay 2 weeks with us and give a Big helping hand here. He 's feeding the animales, ranged outside, in the garden and also cleaning inside.

Je suis resté deux semaines chez Christina et Anna (du 9 au 24 octobre) et bref, l'expérience etait merveilleuse. Je suis canadien et j'apprends le français et Christina etait très gentille de parler français avec moi malgré le fait que mon français n'est pas parfait. Christina peut… read more cuisiner d'excellents repas et elle propose le petit-déjeuner, le déjeuner et le dîner. On est passe plusieurs heures chaque jour à discuter et j'apprécie vraiment mon temps avec elle. Malheureusement, Anna était un peu malade, donc je ne lui ai pas parlé, mais c'est une merveilleuse chanteuse. De plus, Christina est très agréable et elle s'assure que on a des bons outils et informations pour réaliser les tâches qu'elle demande. À l'automne, les tâches quotidiennes comprennent nourrir des animaux (poulets, chevaux, cochons, ânes et tortues), ramasser de nourriture pour les tortues et les chevaux, ramasser du foin, un peu de travaux de jardinage et faire le ménage. Ce que j'ai aimé, c'est que j'avais ma propre chambre et ma propre salle de bain et qu'il y avait beaucoup d'endroits à explorer. Si on a une voiture, on peut explorer, mais je n'avais pas de voiture, mais j'ai marché à Marciaic et une petite église. Je conseil qu'on se promener dans la région car c'est très beau. C'était ma deuxième expérience avec Workaway et je recommande de rester avec Christina et Anna. C'était une expérience géniale! Merci beaucoup, Christina et Anna!

I stayed with Christina and Anna for two weeks (October 9 to October 24) and in short, the experience was wonderful. I'm Canadian and I'm learning French and Christina was very kind to speak French with me despite the fact that my French is not perfect. Christina can cook great meals and she provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner and we spend several hours each day chatting and I really enjoy my time with her. Unfortunately, Anna was a little ill, so I didn't speak with her, but she is a wonderful singer. In addition, Christina is very pleasant and she ensures that we have the right tools and information to complete the tasks she asks. In the fall, daily tasks include feeding the animals (chickens, horses, pigs, donkeys, and tortoises), gathering food for the tortoises and horses, collecting hay, and some yard work and doing housework. What I liked was that I had my own room and bathroom and there were lots of places to explore. If you have a car you can explore, but I didn't have a car, but I walked to Marciaic and a small church. I recommend walking in the area because it is very beautiful. This was my second experience with Workaway, and I recommend staying with Christina and Anna. It was a great experience!
