From a town called Waterlooville, just south of the South Downs National Park, and 8 miles north of Portsmouth, on the South Coast of England. Now we're well into 2019 and the fun and happiness of my 2018 Europe travels are beginning to become a memory from long ago, I am starting to plan an Autumn/Pre-Christmas travel for this year. Through mid September and mid October I will visit Ireland, then in mid October till late November I want to travel between Poland, Slovakia and Hungary, before heading to Austria and/or Bavaria just before December and finally meeting some of my family and friends in the Black Forest for mid December before going back to the UK for Christmas.
On my last travels throughout 2018 I went to Italy, Austria, Czech Republic and spent just over six months living and traveling in Germany, starting in über Franken for 2 weeks, Saxon Switzerland (Sächsische Schweiz) for a month, and for around 4 and a half months I stayed in the central Black Forest (Schwarzwald). After my time in Germany from late November and much of December I continued my travels slowly back up to England, where I stayed in both the Netherlands and Brussels.
I'm a willing person who want's to improve experience on farms, DIY and building, helping tourist, and learn to speak another language. This willingness is shown by the fact I have traveled mostly on my own, which is something most people wouldn't do. Furthermore, I love meeting new people and making new friends, learn about their different cultures and ways of doing things.
Other work experience I can say about: At the moment I work in a factory, nice job but far to easy for me and hate the fact that it's a plastic factory so I'm basically working in an environment that I'm against so need to get out of it! On better notes, I did payed work throughout October in the Black Forest (Schwarzwald), Germany which involved Welding and Plumbing. Before I travelled I worked for Wickes which is a DIY store, that sells building materials such as timber, bricks, electrical's, garden products, fixings, and more. My job at Wickes was on the delivery side and involved loading products (mostly heavy) onto vans in the morning, and picking products the rest of the day so that they were ready to load on to the vans in the following morning. This did not involve any DIY, which is what I want to improve on while I am on Workaway. In the past I have been a part of a group called Boys Brigade, like scouts, which has helped me improve things such as gardening, people skills, and life skills. Also, I have got three A-levels from college, Travel and Tourism, Media Studies and Communications and culture, these sort of qualifications may be useful for hosts looking for Workaways that can help with tourists or their customers.
Cooking / shopping
Help with Eco project
Help in the house
Helping with Tourists
Activities that require heavy lifting, working farm/garden, or helping tourists are my strongest points.
Am happy to use Whatsapp before meeting.
In short, I am Workawaying to learn and improve my experience.
Will eat anything! But, mostly my diet consists of vegetarian food and occasional meat once a week. Would love to visit more Vegan households. But I am flexible.
I can understand some German, but I am more used to the Schwarzwald Dialect, so if you speak German to me, langsam bitte! 😂
