Description
My name is Jantje, I'm from Germany, and I have a passion for traveling and learning about different cultures. I consider myself a warm, friendly, and open-minded person who loves staying active and spending time outdoors in nature.

After graduating from high school, I began my travels, visiting Spain, Portugal, Austria, and Italy, where I had an amazing time! I met many wonderful people and learned something new almost every day.

During my travels, I worked on various farms, caring for animals like goats, donkeys, chickens, dogs, and cats. I also did a lot of gardening, gaining valuable knowledge about sustainability and self-sufficiency. In addition, I participated in various DIY and building projects. For example, I insulated a chicken coop, built a greenhouse and a wooden bridge, and did a lot of painting.

I also have extensive experience in childcare. I have looked after children of different ages, organizing activities such as arts and crafts, outdoor games, and educational activities that spark their creativity and curiosity. I enjoy helping kids explore nature, teaching them basic skills, and fostering their independence in a playful, engaging way. Additionally, I am comfortable with preparing meals for them, assisting with homework, and ensuring a fun yet structured environment. Working with kids has always been a rewarding experience for me, and I love seeing them grow and learn.

I enjoyed traveling so much that I wanted to find a way to keep doing it. So, I combined my two passions—traveling and kitesurfing. First, I returned to Germany and got my certification as a kitesurfing instructor, spending the entire summer working on the northern coast. In October 2023, I flew to New Zealand and spent the summer in Nelson, working as an instructor. Now, I’m back in Germany for another summer season, and I plan to head to Perth at the end of October.

What makes me really happy is to meet people from different countries and cultures, explore new places, to be productive and create something beautiful.

I can absolutely recommend it to stay on the farm with Helen and Art. I stayed for 10 days and in that time two other Workawayers Hong and Tim stayed there as well.
