Hello there!
I’m Jan, a 24-year-old guy spending a year in New Zealand to explore the country and lend a hand wherever needed.

I’m a professional design engineer, but I’ve also gained a lot of hands-on experience helping my father run his hotel every summer. This included waitressing, cooking, gardening, and even working on house construction and restoration projects.

I’m passionate about adventure sports like kayaking and skiing, and I’d be happy to help with pets too—I’ve got plenty of experience taking care of my 5 dogs and 3 horses back home!

I have 2 years of experience as a Design Engineer and Product Development.

In addition, I have experience in waitressing and cooking—cooking is something I genuinely love!

I’ve also been involved in construction projects, including building a house and doing painting maintenance. I’m quite handy with woodworking as well.

I’ve grown up in a rural environment, so I’m very familiar with farming and gardening. I also have plenty of experience taking care of animals, including my five dogs, three horses, and chickens.

Jan was lovely to host; friendly, creative and practical. While he was staying, he built a small fence and two gates to keep our dog from wandering off, using bits of scavenged loose timber. He also did several other small practical jobs and taught us a bit of Catalan. All the best for the South Island adventure.
