Hello, I'm Jamie May.

I'm a 26 year old man from the South West of England. In 2021 I moved across England to start studying a FIlmmaking degree in Brighton. As my time with my degree comes to an end, I look forward to what's next, which is Australia! I'm leaving for Aus on the 9th September and my flight is booked to Perth.

At 16 I started working as a gardener with my dad, so I'm more than happy to be out in the garden helping out with maintenance or more! I have also picked up a number of handy skills with him, though I am certainly no expert, but my dad taught me a good work ethic and I'm physically able to help with a lot of heavy lifting etc. Since moving to Brighton, I have mostly worked in bars, I am currently a supervisor at a busy bar in the city centre.

Before I had started my filmmaking degree, I was already working on learning my craft, working with local bands and musicians in my hometown to make them their music videos. I do have a big interest in creative endeavours and I'm always keen to learn a new craft. Whilst I travel I do intend to create video content, not in the aim to get famous on the internet, but just to share what I've been up to with my friends and family. WIthin my degree, I specialised in editing. If you have any interest in learning more about filmmaking or video creation then I'd be more than happy to share my knowledge, and I'm always keen to get involved in a new project!

When I'm not doing my uni work or working a shift, I enjoy spending time with friends. The summer months are the best for me, I love to grab a few tinnies and sit on the beach with pals, I love swimming and gettin out in the sea, when it's hot I try and visit the beach every day if I can! I've also recently gotten back into skateboarding and I'm hoping to get one when I get to Aus. I mainly just like to cruise around on it instead of doing tricks or skating in parks.

I love trying new recipes, most recently I've been learning how to bake focaccia and a nice shakshouka to dip it in. I'm not the best cook in the world but I've got a few dishes up my sleeve and I'm more than happy to help out in the kitchen, even if it's just food prep or doin the dishes!

I hope this has been enough of an insight into who I am and what I'm about! I'm really lookin forward to meeting new people and doing different things on my travels! If you have any questions then I'm more than happy to arrange a video call or answer any questions you might have!

Gardening and general labour are the skills I can offer to you most, though as I said I am willing to learn anything you need from me as I am quite a fast learner. I can also offer help with IT problems if needed and am willing to teach you some video creation if you want to. I am also a capable cleaner after helping out with my mum's cleaning business when she needed some help.
