  • Description

    Hello!

My name is Jacob, I’m 23 years old, and I live in Cogolin, in the south of France, just a short drive from my job as a videographer for a social media agency in Saint-Tropez.

Although my professional work is in film and media, I’m not looking to volunteer in that field this time around. Instead, I’d like to return to something I’ve really loved doing in the past: looking after children and helping them learn English. Two years ago, I spent time volunteering in Bilebante, Lombok, Indonesia, where I worked with local young adults, running activities and giving informal English lessons. It was a fantastic experience; hugely rewarding, great fun, and a real reminder of how much I enjoy working with young people.

I was born in Norwich, England, but moved to France when I was only a year old, so I’m bilingual (English and French) and have dual nationality. Since my teenage years, I’ve held a qualification for working with children, along with a French lifeguard certificate. Over the years I’ve worked in hotels, babysat, led summer camp activities, and organised games, sports, and creative workshops for children and teenagers.

I’ve always enjoyed making learning feel fun and natural; whether that’s playing a game, organising a little art project, or chatting in English while baking a cake. I’m quite sporty too, and I especially enjoy playing basketball, which I’ve often used as a fun and active way to connect with children and help them practice English without even realising they’re learning.

When I’m not working, I’m often outdoors; walking, cycling, swimming; or spending time with friends and family. I’m a fairly easy-going person, happy to get stuck in with whatever’s needed, and I genuinely enjoy meeting new people and learning about different cultures.

I’d be delighted to volunteer at your project and would bring enthusiasm, patience, and a positive attitude. I believe it would be a mutually enriching experience, and I’d be very happy to help wherever I can.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
    Jacob

  • More details about your skills

I’m bilingual in English and French, with dual nationality, and I’m qualified to work with children as well as trained as a lifeguard.
I’ve worked with kids in many settings : babysitting, leading activities in hotel kids’ clubs and running summer camp programmes full of games, sports, and creative workshops.
A couple of years ago, I volunteered in Indonesia, organising activities and informal English lessons for locals, making learning fun with games, art and cooking.
I also spent time in Cape Town, South Africa, volunteering at the reception of a busy hostel, meeting people from all over the world and learning how to keep things running smoothly.
I’m passionate about cinematography, having studied it at university, and now work as a videographer and photographer for a social media agency in Saint-Tropez, France, bringing creativity and energy to every project.
I’m sporty, adaptable, and always up for getting involved, whether that’s organising a game, helping out with a project, or meeting new people and new cultures.
