I’m John, 37 year old traveller. I’ve been on the road for 15 years, racked up loads of miles under my boots, loads of experience from working: at sea, in the outback of Australia, building sites in various countries, workaways in treehouse hostels, driving guests around the French alps, bar tending in the Swiss alps and every job inbetween.

I’ve peeled more potatoes than I can count along with pots and pans washed to match. I’ve happy cleaning out a toilet or captaining vessels up to 200 gross ton. I see value in all the little things in life and find enjoyment almost everywhere I go!

I’m happy to take on most construction projects and not afraid to get my hands dirty. I also know my way around a kitchen (or a galley when at sea!)

I’m an easy going guy that likes snow in the winter and sun/sea in the summer. I have 4 nieces and nephews (aged 6-14!) back home which I miss always so always happy around little ones! I’ll probably show you pictures if we meet!

I’m currently in France but hoping to travel to Portugal this summer and hoping to get stuck into a bit of a project whether it being daily duties around your hostel or eco lodge. Always keen for some manual labour, I’m good with my hands and it’s good for the soul! Ifs there

I have a strong background in construction and a keen interest in building things!

My construction skills are:
Groundwork’s- concreting, landscaping, jackhammering etc
Brick and tile laying - fair amount of experience
Steel work - welding, cutting.
Carpentry- good knowledge of woods and all tools, hand and power.
Strong knowledge of painting and varnishing.
Heavy machinery operations, 360 diggers, dump trucks up to 4 ton, bobcats, forklifts etc!
Gardening- all aspects of maintaining and cultivating a garden.
