Description

Hello, I'm José María from Motril, a small city in Andalucía, Spain.

I'm a calm and responsible person, in the path of peace and love. I appreciate balance and harmony in the situations I live in and with the people I share the time with, so I naturally like to behave in a balanced and harmonious way.

Now I am looking for a paid opportunity and I want to do it through a workaway to have a closer and more natural relationship with the host. I prefer a long stay to give a good chance to learn from the place I go in a calm and stable way.

I practice meditation and yoga everyday, which gives me clarity and natural happiness. I follow the words of enlightened beings and I try to live according to their teachings. It means being truthful and open hearted.

In the last few years I have spent most of my time as a volunteer. I've lived several months as a server in meditation centers in Italy and Spain, where I learnt to act consciously and paying attention.
 I've been helping in a yoga retreat center in Crete, Greece, where I met different kinds of healers.
 And for approximately 9 months in total in different periods, I've been a volunteer in the Thabarwa center in Italy. A community where people with difficulties (alcoholism, mental health problems, people coming from social services...) live together with volunteers and it creates a miraculous atmosphere. I learnt a lot about being open, taking responsibilities, how to communicate difficult things and bringing common sense to the situations I live in.
One of my last experiences has been helping my brother, who is a football coach, in a 12 -14 year old football team in Granada, Spain. And I have found a new world. I love being with children, once I was not in the best mood and just spent a little time with them all of a sudden it all vanished. It fills me with happiness to be with them.
I helped in also in another residential center near Granada for people living any kind of difficulties and people who had no home, I was helping there in many different tasks, such as taking care of a charity "business" and helping children with after school homework. It was a very enriching experience.
And I helped in an upcoming community in Denmark were I was taking care of the vegetable garden and all gardens of the house in general. It was very interesting also to get immersed in the Danish culture.

I easily get to learn new languages and I do it with pleasure, so I'm available to learn any other language required for the situation or even just for fun. I enjoy also teaching the languages I know.

My main skills could be about languages and communication.
Apart from being a native Spanish speaker, I speak English and Italian fluently, as they are the main languages I've been using the last 4 years. I have some knowledge of French, which I would like to take to the next level.

Then, about communication, I am getting used to communicating rules in a gentle and comprehensive way, since I am now in a position of responsibility. In which I also have to say sometimes sensitive emotional communications in the best kind way, so I'm learning social skills too.

I am also able to organize tasks for people in order to reach efficiency. And so I'm developing a wide group vision and organizative mind.

I've always been a server or a volunteer, so naturally I have a behaviour oriented to help and serve others.

In all the places I've been I'm usually cooking and it's something I enjoy doing. Cooking at a homemade level can be another ability of mine.

Again, all the places I've been in the last few years used to be in nature. So a lot of the work is done outside and with plants. And so I learnt to do practical things, to work with my hands, DIY and some gardening, which I enjoy.

The best skill I have is probably being able to adapt to any situation in a harmonious way. And that's why I learnt all these things. So I am open and available to learn the new skills needed to help in the next place I go.

When I was younger I was doing some steps as a musician and artist, so this artistic sense is still in myself. I love dancing too.
