  • Description

Hello everyone! We are Izzie and Julia, two friends looking for some adventures! We have both recently graduated from university, where we lived together for three years and enjoyed exploring Cornwall’s incredible coastal scenery. During this time, we loved to explore Cornwall by going on outdoor adventures and finding new trails to hike and camp. We started our hiking adventures by joining a woman’s walking group, where we met lots of interesting people and enjoyed being part of such a lovely community. We lived next to the beach, so we went sea swimming all year round and joined in on kayaking sessions. We are both interested in the natural world and enjoy rock pooling, bird watching, botany identification and stargazing (with the northern lights on our bucket list!)

We are very eager to learn new skills and are quick learners when given a demonstration. Between us we share many creative, gardening, cooking, and practical skills. We both love spending time with our young nephews and nieces, so we have experience with entertaining, teaching and looking after children. We would enjoy exchanging our culture with families, sharing our local histories, languages, and our experiences. We are more drawn to remote places where we can enjoy nature as we feel they resonate best with our personalities and lifestyle.

Hello I’m Julia! I was born in Poland and grew up in a small village, both sides of my family own farms growing fruit, vegetables and have various animals, so growing up I spent a lot of time helping with gardening, weeding and other jobs. I would also go foraging, cycling, swimming in lakes and enjoying the beautiful Polish countryside. We moved to Wales when I was 5 years old, giving me the chance to embrace the fabulous Welsh culture, whilst becoming fluent in Polish and English. I decided to move to Cornwall for university, where I found my people and felt most at home! I thrive near the coast and love anything to do with the sea, whether that’s swimming or stand-up paddle boarding. I hope to through either a workaway or other opportunities try out diving, and other water sports I haven’t tried before. My other hobbies vary from, reading, puzzling, and tennis. At university I studied Textile Design, so I come with many creative skills which are very varied as I have always been a creative person. After graduating, I have decided this is my best chance to travel the world and gain lots of new skills! Therefore, me and Izzie have already started planning our trips around Europe and hopefully meet you soon on an exciting workaway! I am also interesting in completing dog grooming training, so I would love any opportunities to gain more skills working with dogs.

Hi I’m Izzie, I’m from small village in the southeast of England! Growing up I spent a lot of my childhood exploring the countryside with my sisters, which encouraged my love and admiration of nature. Spending time in nature brings me so much happiness and peace, so I decided that I would like to work in conservation. I moved to Cornwall to study Conservation Biology and Ecology at university so I could learn more about the natural world and pursue my passion. After recently graduating I would love the opportunity to travel with work away to meet new people, share cultural experiences, learn new skills and explore the local places and wildlife. I enjoy gardening and I have had a go at growing my own food, but I would love the opportunity to learn more. In my free time I love reading, going on wildlife spotting walks and enjoy creative hobbies, including crocheting, painting and crafty things. I’ve been vegetarian for 9 years and love to try out new recipes to share with my friends and family, so I would be happy to exchange recipes! I am so excited for this next adventure with julia and looking forward to meeting you all!
