  • Description

    Our dear hosts and workawayers,

    we are Mansi and Mwada. We are dreamers, enthousiasts, and culture addicts! We have been traveling for six months now in East Africa. And now we willing to travel to Turkey and Georgia. We will now present ourselves individually in the following text, enjoy it and don’t hesitate to send us a message with any questions you may have;

    Hi,

    Here is Mansi!

I am 32 years old, I was born in Egypt and grew up in a small city in the Delta(the Northern part of Egypt). I have a degree in social work, and I have worked in Saudi Arabia for 5 years and during these years I visited some of the gulf countries and Europe. In these years I discovered that I am always looking for the difference in almost everything, I was attracted to the different colors, names, religions, nationalities, and cultures. So, I have been lucky at the beginning of these 5 years to know Mwada and since then we have been discovering that our interests are very common and our vision towards life is almost the same!

Well, what I feel motivates me and brings me happiness are nature, knowing new people, helping others, cooking, working with my hands, reading, writing, and other things.

What I really want to do through this incredible website is to:

    - Travel the whole world.
    - Meet a lot of people from different cultures.
    - Live life as a volunteer and as a contributor not only as a consumer in this world.

I am ready and excited to begin this journey!

    .....

    Hi,

my name is Mwada. I am 23 years old. I have been loving traveling since I was very very young. I wanted always to see more than my surroundings. I was born in Iraq, but I and my family fled to Syria first and then to Belgium, because of the bad situation in Iraq.

I've lived the other ten years of my life in Belgium. I absorbed the middle Eastern and Western culture, but I feel that I want to see more cultures. In Iraq, my grandparents had a buffalo farm and grounds with date trees and I loved to visit them and enjoy the open and simple life.

In the past years, I and Mansi have been sharing the same interests and somehow trying to understand our origins and our role in the world. Me and Mansi have lived for some time in Egypt and after that we began our travel journey in East Africa: we did workaways in Uganda for three months and in Tanzania for other three months. Workaway helped us discover the East African local life and we are happy to say that we now understand Africa!

I've been volunteering on different projects in Belgium such as the ‘Gray Cat’ youth club for children with family difficulties, I was a volunteer for 2 years during weekends and holidays. My task was to play with them and understand their behavior towards each other, the world, and life. And try to guide them through their difficulties.

I also went in a group of volunteers to India for 2 weeks. There we've stayed with sexually abused girls. We've visited malaria patients and self-sustained boys' schools (farming and schooling).
In ‘Sant-Egidio’ I volunteered with the lonely elderly, to talk to them and keep them some company.
In Egypt, I and Mansi went and volunteered in an orphanage, but it ended unfortunately very soon due to covid.

Now, I am thrilled to go into Turkey and Georgia and their cultures and people!

Hope to see you soon! Till then!
    Mansi & Mwada

    Here is what we can add to ourselves and others;

Since the day we've lived together, we have been doing almost everything together. We have worked as workawayers in hospitality, construction, farming, teaching (English, French and Arabic). That’s why we also like to work in groups with others and complete with them a fixed goal or project. In the following text you will find out what each of us can do:

    Mwada:

I like to paint, build or construct things with Mansi. I like to work in a farm with animals and in harvesting the corps!
I have experience in managing hostels in Uganda and Tanzania and improving it with new ideas and visions for more profit and success.
I like to help in the kitchen and learn different cuisines.
I like to teach languages French, English and Dutch. I have a listening ear and am empathetic towards my students.

    Mansi:

I'm a hard worker, an honest man, who loves team spirit and team success.
I have helped a lot in constructing, building and farming during my workaway stays. I see myself as a responsible person in managing and taking responsibility for hostels during our stay in East Africa. I have experience in administration and in making a business plan. So if you need any new idea or a responsible person person to lean on, you can find me!
I love food and I like to cook many dishes from the Egyptian cuisine, such as (Koushari, Mahshi, Bamia, Fish, Meat, Chicken, and some desserts).

  • What else ...

Actually, Mansi considers himself a good competitor in Chess and Pool! And Mwada is still a beginner in Chess!

Football has been always Mansi's favourite sport. Mwada likes to play football too, but she is mostly a hiker. In general, we love to do sports and move our bodies.

We love listening to music, attending festivals and parties, as well as reading varieties of books, and having deep discussions about life and existence.

Mansi likes to do a lot of handwork at the house, such as building or repairing things and of course COOKING ;) Mwada likes to help Mansi with that, though!

Oh! We can't forget to tell you that we are eager to learn how to play an instrument such as guitar, piano, violin, or any other instrument!!

We would like to learn how to sculpture too and many more things...you may want to teach us!
