あじめまして!
We, Héloïse and Vincent, are a 30-year-old French couple looking forward to discovering Japan on a working holiday visa from August 2025.
It will be our first time in Japan, and we are eager to experience its culture and beautiful landscapes throughout the seasons. We intend to move around so as to explore as many different sides of Japan as we can.
Instead of only staying in touristic spots or youth hotels, we would love to experience a more traditional life with locals and practice our Japanese.
A bit more about ourselves :
• Héloïse / へロイズ:
After working for about three and a half year as a primary school teacher, I’ve decided to resume my studies to become a French teacher to non-native speakers.
I also lived in London for 5 years and will pass the CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) in May to be a qualified English teacher.
I would love to teach you some French or English if you’re interested!
I have started learning Japanese this year, and plan on taking the JLPTN5 test this summer before going to Japan.
Apart from languages, I enjoy reading, crafts, hiking, and music. I intend on trying out many traditional Japanese hobbies and craft during our trip.
I’ve only had one workaway experience before but it was amazing, and I can’t wait to be a Workawayer in Japan. I stayed in a quiet German village and took care of the animals (horses, goats, donkey, dog), did some work in the garden, a bit of cooking, cleaning, etc.
• Vincent/ヴぃんせんて
I am currently working as HR assistant for a charity that helps struggling people find accommodation and employment.
In 2018, I spent 3 months in Sri Lanka helping a local family with gardening, house building, cooking, cleaning or taking care of the animals (dogs, chickens). If you’re curious about it, I still have the newletter they sent me that describes what I did there. I would love to have a similar time in Japan, having learnt a lot about myself and Sri Lanka’s culture through that former experience.
I also worked in the past as a waiter and a barman, which I hope will be useful as a Workawayer.
To better enjoy our trip, I’ve started learning Japanese and I hope to have an JLPTN5 level before the end of the year. Living with locals would be a great way to practice and improve my Japanese, as well as making new connections.
I enjoy drawing, writing, swimming, and reading (history, human and social sciences…). I look forward to learning about Japanese culture, for example by trying my hand at cooking local dishes or calligraphy.Interests

They made me feel welcome from the start and helped me a lot with my German. Their farm is beautiful with so many cuddly animals, it was a great and rewarding experience to care for them! I was able to horse ride and go on amazing walks with their dog.
