  • Description

    Hi,
    I'm Hanna, 21, from Hungary.

    Update: I have been travelling through Australia for the past three months and have stayed with a number of workawayers families. I have done a number of jobs including general household chores (washing up, cleaning, laundry, organising) and have learnt more specialised skills as well, trying my hand at beekeeping, professional painting (lots of sanding), helping retile a bathroom, and even shearing sheep.
    Currently I am looking for hosts in New Zealand’s North island, where I will be travelling from the end of January until the beginning of March. I would be happy to stay anywhere on the North Island, but am planning to arrive in Auckland and trickle down along the train lines to wellington, touching on Rotorua and lake Taupo and anywhere else I can see.

    My original profile from before starting my travels;
    From September to February I'll embark on a journey through Australia and New Zealand, fulfilling a childhood dream of mine. I'm excited to try as many different opportunities as possible and meet lots of new people.
    After spending some years studying psychology in the UK, I am desperate to escape city life and explore nature and the world.

    Taking care of our four-legged family and hiking, camping, kayaking, and so on with my parents have been the highlights of my childhood, and I'm excited to get back into more physical activities and closer to nature again after sitting behind a desk for the past couple years.

    I am very hardworking, always ready to learn new skills, and open minded. I'm looking forward to being able to contribute to a number of different projects, whether its tending to animals or getting hands-on with building, gardening, weeding. I can't wait to meet new people and families with whom we can exchange stories, languages, cooking recipes, etc.
    Curling up with a good book, or spending all day hiking in a forest or around a lake are my go-to hobbies, and working with animals a dream come true.
    Hopefully, see you soon! :)

  • More details about your skills

    I have previously volunteered in Portugal at a wolf recuperation centre where I not only learnt about how to work with animals, but also helped in building fences and walls, gardening on 20 hectares and weeding. I also helped cutting up wood for winter, and planted new trees to keep the place sustainable.
    Similarly, I don't mind having to get up early for work - for in the summer heat we would fill up the wolves' water very early every morning. While in the autumn we cleared out old leaves from the gutters for the rain to run smoothly.

    Whereas I have experience working with animals and building projects, there is still much I do not know and I would love to learn new skills, and gain new knowledge. I am hardworking, so if you would like me to do something I had never done before I will be more than happy to try until I succeed - the first brick and concrete wall I ever had to build luckily hasn't fallen down yet, so I take that as a good sign :)
