  • Description

I am an outgoing, explorative person with a good sense of humour. I love to explore new cultures and areas of interest, especially since finishing university, where my willingness to put myself into new and exciting situations has expanded greatly. Additionally, my friends would agree that I am open minded person with a thoughtful way of living.

If I could go to any country to travel, it would be hard to choose, but I would love especially to explore South America, and countries such as Brazil, Nicaragua, or Guatemala! Being a British national too has shaped the causes which are close to my heart, namely anti-imperialist ones. I stand proudly with the people of Palestine, and have a great drive to learn about how respective cultures and regions have been affected by colonisation.

I love to read, and linking back, especially authors who challenge conventional European narratives which were ubiquitous in my childhood. I would say my favourite author is James Baldwin :)

  • More details about your skills

I have just recently graduated with a degree in History from the University of Dundee. Studying history not only comes with practical skills, in terms of reading, but also a drive to learn about different histories and cultures. Indeed, my very dissertation looked to analyse the effects of historical narratives, and how they influence Ghanaian art in the works of El Anatsui. From my degree, I have picked up essential skills in my ability to analyse literature.

Furthermore, practically speaking, the most essential skill I offer in travelling abroad would be my fluency in the English language, which I would be confident in teaching to people wanting to learn! I have also worked with food banks before, and know about the practical skills required in the distribution of essential foods to those in need.

Practically, those close to me know that I am good with animals, having pets for all my life.
