Description
About Us
Hello! We’re Georgia (27, Australian) and Ines (32, Belgian), two friends who met a year ago while working in hospitality in Brisbane and quickly realised we make a great team. We’re planning to travel to Oman, Jordan, and Lebanon at the end of February 2026, excited to immerse ourselves in new cultures and contribute wherever we can.
We both come from strong hospitality and people-focused backgrounds — Georgia as a Group Bar Manager in Brisbane overseeing several large venues, and Ines as a flight attendant back in Belgium, with additional experience in construction and hospitality while in Australia. These experiences have made us adaptable, confident in working with people from all walks of life, and always ready to jump into new challenges.
Interests & Personality
What motivates us most is connection — with people, places, and ways of life that are different from our own. We’re both naturally curious and find a lot of meaning in learning through shared experiences, conversation, and everyday routines. Whether it’s working alongside someone on a project, sharing meals, or exchanging stories at the end of the day, these moments are what make travel feel purposeful and grounding for us.
We’re happiest when we’re contributing to something tangible and feeling part of a community, even if only for a short time. Both of us come from backgrounds that value teamwork, responsibility, and adaptability, and we genuinely enjoy being useful — whether that’s through hands-on work, helping with people-facing roles, or simply showing up with a positive and respectful attitude. We’re laid-back, open-minded, and comfortable adjusting to different rhythms and cultural expectations. Our interests range from history, philosophy, and gardening (Georgia) to extreme adventures and outdoor pursuits (Ines), and we love discovering new experiences together.
Through Workaway, we’re hoping to experience other countries in a more authentic and local way, while giving back our time and energy in return. We’re especially drawn to opportunities that encourage learning, cultural exchange, and mutual respect, and we approach each experience with curiosity, humility, and enthusiasm.
