Description

We're Jolien (33) and Gawein (36), a couple from Belgium and we paused/quit our jobs to go on a one year trip (september 2023 - september 2024) across Europe with our van called 'Beugschoot'.
During this year we'd love to volunteer on several different agricultural projects.

Although our profile information is in English, as Belgians our mother tongue is Dutch and we speak some French as well.

We're both passionate about nature and a sustainable way of life. During our trip we're specifically interested in sustainable farming and nature conservation techniques. We like being active (walking, running, riding our bicycles) and we love to spend lots of time in nature. In Leuven (Belgium) we live in a shared house with wonderful housemates, where we have our own small vegetable garden and compost system.

A short word on our professional lives: Jolien is a nurse (10 years of experience at the emergency department of a hospital and recently switched to a local district health centre). Gawein works as a sustainbable energy advisor for 300 local governments in Flanders (Belgium), with a primary focus on sustainable heating and cooling.
