Hi,

My name is Gary. I am now 54 years old, so I feel like I may be a bit older than most who use this site. Having said that I feel like I'm fairly fit and healthy for my age.

I have two grown up children, Evie who is 23 and Daniel who is 19.

I split up with my wife nearly 5 years ago after 25 years together. I feel like I've been a bit lost since but I'm in no way feeling bad about it now and have moved on with life.

Both my children have now moved away and are getting on with their lives.

I have always worked with dog's as well as keeping many different pet's over the year's and I am a real animal lover who doesn't mind getting his hands dirty. I have lot's of patience with people and animals and I would say that is one of my best strengths.

I recently found this website ( a few months ago now) and I am really interested in getting involved.

I have no commitments at the moment as my most recent employment ended after the death of my bosses wife not long ago.

I'm hoping to find a placement somewhere looking after animals and I'm happy and willing to help in any way I can with any tasks that would need doing.

I would like to maybe find a longer term placement to really get to know the people and animals and make a difference to whatever project the host is doing.

Hope that my age doesn't count against me as I'm sure some host's would be looking for younger volunteers but hope that I can find something that suit's us both and I'm very much looking forwards to this next chapter in my life.

I have always worked with dog's, large dog's and love all animals having had all kinds of pet's as well over the year's.

I'm easy to get along with and patient with both people and animals.

If it was ever any use to anyone I have taught myself, by watching and learning to be a fairly good dog physio even though I have no official qualifications it was quite a big part of my day to day work when working in or having large kennels of dogs previously.

Hope I could be of some interest and help to potential hosts.

My main interests are keeping in touch with my children and finding out about how they are getting on and helping if I can.

I suppose other than that my main interests are animals and football ( not playing anymore)
