    Description

We’re a young Irish couple (Jonny & Claire) living in the beautiful countryside of Borrisoleigh, Co. Tipperary, with our two much-loved fur-babies. Our home is a spacious, comfortable farm bungalow with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy. We grow a small selection of vegetables in our raised beds and take pride in keeping a clean, cosy, and welcoming home.

We’re surrounded by peaceful rural views, yet we’re never far from amenities:
    • 5 minutes to Borrisoleigh village (shops, café, chemist, pub)
    • 10 minutes to Templemore (shops, pubs, restaurants)
    • 15 minutes to the Devil’s Bit Mountain — a fantastic hiking and nature spot.

Our four-legged family members are Whitey, a 3-year-old purebred black German Shepherd we’ve had since birth (his mum and dad belong to our family too!), and Sadie, our adorable 1.5-year-old collie mix. They’re the best of friends, always up for a game of fetch or a stroll through the neighbouring fields. Both are fully house-trained, healthy, and sleep indoors — they’re very much part of the family.

We love where we live — the fresh air, the space, and the friendly local community — and we’re excited to share it with visitors who appreciate both a peaceful rural setting and easy access to the Irish countryside’s hidden gems.

Staying with us is a chance to experience authentic rural Irish life in the heart of County Tipperary. You’ll be immersed in the local community, where neighbours greet you by name and the pace of life is relaxed and friendly.

You can explore scenic walking trails, hike the Devil’s Bit Mountain, visit historic towns, and enjoy traditional Irish music sessions in nearby pubs. We’re happy to share stories about Irish culture, history, and day-to-day life here, and we can recommend hidden gems that you won’t find in guidebooks.

If you’re interested, you can also learn a little about growing your own vegetables in raised beds, caring for pets, and maintaining a countryside home. And, of course, you’ll have the best crash course in “dog ball-throwing” you could wish for!

  • Help

    Help

Our main request is simple — we need caring, responsible Workawayers to look after our two friendly dogs (Whitey & Sadie) while we’re away. This includes feeding them, giving them plenty of playtime and walks, and ensuring they’re safe, happy, and secure in our home and garden. In return, you’ll enjoy a comfortable stay in our peaceful countryside home with the best company two dogs can offer!

  • What else ...

    What else ...

In your free time, you can explore the beautiful surroundings of County Tipperary. The Devil’s Bit Mountain is just a 15 minute drive away, offering stunning views and hiking trails. Nearby Templemore Town Park has walking paths, a lake, and tennis courts, while the charming village of Borrisoleigh has shops, cafés, and traditional pubs.

You can also take day trips to the Rock of Cashel, Cahir Castle, Nenagh Castle, Thurles for Ireland’s GAA Museum or neighbouring cities of Kilkenny & Limerick, all of which often hosts live music and cultural events in their locations. For nature lovers, there are plenty of countryside walks and cycling routes right from our doorstep.

    Transport:
We’re in a rural area, so having your own car is the easiest way to get around. However, there are limited bus services using the Local Link community bus service. Templemore & Thurles also have a train station with connections to Dublin, Cork, and Limerick.
