Description
Hi! We are Elisabeth (22 y/o) and Daan (25 y/o). We are two students from Utrecht who share a passion for, amongst other things, nature, animals, forestry and culture. We have decided that we want to spend this summer acquiring new skills, getting to know new people and cultures, exploring places we haven't been before and most importantly: Helping out where we can!
To give you an idea of who we are as individuals, we will write down a quick biography.
Elisabeth: I am an extroverted enthousiastic person that is curious about everything. Having lived at a (non-commercial, eco-friendly) farmhouse in the Dutch countryside I have grown up learning to love and care for all different kinds of animals. Dogs, cats, chickens, turkeys, I know a lot about animal-husbandry! I currently own a horse myself, that I took with me to Utrecht in order to study Human Geography & Spatial Planning at Utrecht University.
Next to my love for animals and anything to do with them, I have adored nature all my life. I have spent a lot of time tending to veggie-gardens, fruit trees, herbs and flowers and it gives me a lot of energy :). This love of nature has resulted in me wanting to pursue a Master's Degree in Forest & Nature Conservation in order to acquire even more knowledge about how we can save the planet!
I am fluent in Dutch and English. My German is a bit rusty, although I understand it pretty well.
Daan: Ever since I was a child I have been interesed in nature, I joined the boy scouts when I was 5 years old and stayed an active member up until I was 24 years old. At the scouts I was a "cub" leader, organising weekly activities in the forest for boys aged 7 - 11. I quit last year to create new room in the staff team, so new and aspiring people could take my place. I've recently got my Bachelors Degree in Human Geography & Spatial Planning at Utrecht University. As part of my program I followed the minor Forest & Nature Conservation, which I enjoyed so much that in september I will start the Master's Program of this study. I'm a certified bee-keeper, and love to examine the smaller insects and critters of the world. I am fluent in Dutch and English and speak a little bit of french as well (B1).Interests

Elisabeth: I'm a good cook, I have a lot of experience in animal husbandry, I have gardening skills (planting, removing weeds, etc.), I am good at drawing and painting and I'm good with people (worked with people with a physical and/or mental disability for 5 years). Most importantly: I learn quick, and I'd love to learn new things!
Daan: I'm an outdoors-y kind of guy, due to my experience at the boy scouts I have basic outdoor skills like navigating, starting fires, cutting wood etc. I have a lot of experience with entertaining and teaching children about nature due to this as well. I'm a certified bee-keeper and have completed a minor in Forest & Nature Conservation, so I'm somewhat knowledgable about forestry and nature management. I know a tiny amount about permaculture, and I'm a quick study!Age
