I am super, super energetic and very friendly. I enjoy making myself useful and help people wherever and however I can.
One day (a very fine day, if I may add) I decided to stop living a life that felt like a lie. I packed my bag, took my savings and started travelling alone.
I was not your typical young backpacker. I was 37 . But as I started doing what I really enjoyed, it felt as if 10 years dropped off. Well, at least virtually ;)
With age comes experience and my experience is my greatest assett. I worked in Hospitality for many years and I'm happy to share my knowledge .
For the past 3 years, on and off, I travelled whilst volunteering and covered several roles : I worked as hostel receptionist, as a cook (providing breakfast and dinner for up to 45 guests daily) , at hostel bars, organising tours, being in charge of farms, dog shelters, dog hotels, I painted, decorated,.....you name it.
Each experience brought a different knowledge. Learning new things is thrilling!
Although I am an older workawayer, worry not. I have energy, strength and stamina that comes out of my ears (not literally....yuk!) as I have always exercised and kept fit.
So, in other words, I'm confident I make a pretty good Workawayer and the feedback received so far is a reflection of the hard work I so far put in.
I worked in hotels, hostels restaurants and bars in many parts of the world. As receptionist, cook, barista, cleaner, manager.
I have worked for huge companies and small family run businesses.
Each time learning something new.
I also have a passion for animals and nature so looking after animals and anything green is something that makes me happy.
I volunteered at an ecuestrian centre, at farms and dog shelters, so getting dirty and doing physical work are not an issue. In fact I enjoy it.
I am responsible, trustworthy and a very hard worker.
I take my responsibilities very seriously whilst being always positive, proactive ,generally happy and humorous.
I have exceptional organisational skills, I enjoy cleaning (I know, crazy but true), cooking and nurturing in general.
Although I have listed all my good points, I am very humble and have no problems whatsoever in taking directions from whoever is above me within a workplace and I accept feedback with gratitude.
Special dietary requirements
I prefer not to eat mass produced meat.
