Description
Hi! I’m Fanny, a Swiss traveller who loves nature and simple things. I work in sustainability back home, and I try to travel in a low-impact way — mostly by train. I enjoy hiking, swimming, painting and discovering quiet places off the main roads.
Being outdoors has always been part of my life. I’m currently travelling solo for the first time and I’m looking forward to meeting people along the way.
I arrived in Cambodia in mid-November 2025 and I’ll continue through Vietnam, Laos, China and Central Asia.
My goal is to make my way back to Switzerland by train, and to learn from people as I move across the region.
I’m motivated and happy to help with simple tasks: gardening, basic DIY, cooking or anything I can learn on the spot. I’m new to Workaway, but I’ve volunteered in a few community and sustainability projects in Switzerland.
I co-founded a small cooperative grocery store with friends to promote local agricultural products. I also help every year at a music festival : bartending, hospitality, and general support.
I’d love to meet hosts who enjoy cultural exchange, nature, creativity or sustainability. I’m interested in eco-projects, guesthouses, farms, community life — anything where I can learn something new, help and share experiences.

More details about your skills
I studied and work in sustainability, so I’m used to project management, communication, teamwork and thinking in a practical, solution-oriented way. I helped open a small cooperative grocery store with friends, which taught me about organisation, supporting local producers, and handling many small tasks at once. I like excel sheet and calculation.
I’ve been a competitor swimmer and then teach young and adult how to swim.
I’ve also been volunteering for years at a music festival where I do bartending and hospitality.
On the practical side, I’m comfortable with gardening, simple DIY, cooking, cleaning, organising spaces, and taking care of animals. I’m not an expert handyman, but I learn fast and I enjoy helping with everyday tasks.
I speak French (native) and English (fluent).
I’m happy to teach French, give swimming lesson, cook vegetarian meals or european cuisine, think about sustainability for a place or help with anything I can learn on the spot. I’m always open to trying something new.

Feedback
Chris and Aly were really kind and when around alway ready to answer any questions.
Son (the volunteer manager) was kind, attentive, and welcoming. He invited us to his home several times to meet his family! My experience was so positive largely thanks to him, thank you so… read more
