Bonjour! We are a family of 4 living in the Gaspé peninsula in the French part of Quebec, Canada, where we are surrounded by the mountains and the sea :)
My partner and I live on a large property with our two young children (Wilsie is 9 months old and Elwood is 4 years old), cat, and our dog. We love hiking, walking on the beach, and spend lots of time home looking after the property gardens, lawn, and other fun projects before jumping on the trampoline and enjoying a sauna & cold plunge right in our backyard!
We will be traveling around the world as a family for a year, from August 2024 - June 2025, house-sitting for friends and doing some Workaway along the way. We are excited to meet new people and help out with gardens, farms, ranches, construction and other project while learning and discovering new places with the kids!
About Anne-Marie: I am an English and yoga teacher, and I love chatting about every and any topic! I can help with cooking delicious meals and gardening. I have lived in South Korea for 2 years, Australia for a year and France for a year, and traveled around quite a bit including twice to India to complete my yoga teacher training. I am happy to teach yoga and learn about anything so that I can be helpful around your property. Our 2 young kids do need our attention and love to play. Our eldest, Elwood, will happily pitch in to lend a hand as he does at our place as well.
About Virginie: I like physical and manual work. I am hardworking and strong. I like to learn. I do well in carpentry and construction. I know how to operate a mechanical saw, brush cutter, tractor, ATV, motorcycle. I have a background in horse riding and love working on the farm. I love all animals, I am a wildlife technician and I have been working as a wildlife protection agent (game warden) for 12 years. I mainly enjoy working on the land, gardens, plants, lawn, pruning, fence repair, painting, cleaning.Interests

What else ...
We are excited to meet you and help out with your project! We don't drink nor smoke and are usually in bed by 9 p.m. with the kids :-D
Our hope is to work about 4 hours a day and get a chance to visit around the area to explore your local culture as well.
The kids are young; Elwood is 4 and has lots of energy, and Wilsie is 9 months old and she is starting to crawl and pull herself up. We don't do much screen time and prefer connecting with people and nature, so lots of action and joy on the menu :)Some more information
