Description
Hello! We’re Evelyn and Sam, a couple from Vermont in the United States, with a passion for travel, learning new skills, and connecting with people from all walks of life. We're excited to explore the world through Workaway and immerse ourselves in different cultures while contributing our skills and enthusiasm to meaningful projects. Last year, we took a trip to Europe and fell in love with our experience, so much that we want to come back to live and work for a while! This is our first time doing a workaway program and are excited to explore the opportunity.
As a couple, we’re dependable, friendly, and love collaborating. We make an excellent team, each bringing a unique skill set to the table. Sam has years of experience in construction, woodworking, and working on livestock farms, as well as a college degree in Environmental Studies, specifically in Food Distribution and Regenerative Agriculture. Evelyn also has experience on farms, and is a skilled artist particularly in traditional crafts such as fiber arts and sewing. She is also wonderful with children and enjoys childcare, household management, and is an excellent cook.
We are very excited to work with you on whatever projects you may have for us! While we are happy to lean into our present skill set, we are both eager to learn and happy to take on whatever comes our way. We are looking forward to getting immersed in your hometown, and would also love to do a bit of train travel around the area when we have the time.Interests

I look forward to immersing myself into the culture where I am working, I think an excellent way to do that is through learning the local language and customs. In America its not very often I interact with people who aren't speaking english, I always love the change when I travel and get to practice language skills with people I meet. Being able to speak the language makes it feel like I’m not just visiting, but actually part of the community.Skills and knowledge we'd like to share or learn

Hello this is Sam’s skill set:
I have had years of experience in construction, woodworking, and on livestock farms. I have a College degree in Environmental Studies, specifically in Food Distribution and Regenerative Agriculture. My most recent employment is as a Ski Instructor for adults and children. Some of my past employment experience are as follows:
For carpentry experience, I have completed frame to finish construction on full sized homes, successfully remodeled and made repairs to numerous buildings, as well as engaged with other construction skills such as demolition, timber salvage, and painting. In my free time, I enjoy my own creative woodworking projects and currently have a line of wooden earrings that I sell at local markets.
For farming experience, I have managed and cared for a flock of 200 sheep using regenerative practices at Studio Hill Farm in Shaftsbury Vermont. I have also worked on a small scale vegetable and flower farm, and successfully ran a small business as a freelance landscaper and horticulturist.
Some of my other relevant skills are as an excellent cook, I am wonderful with children, proficient with computers, experience at teaching and training others. I can operate a tractor, I have my own pickup truck, and am comfortable with most farm machinery.
Hi this is Evelyn:
I have a diverse range of skills that all center around nurturing, creativity, and sustainability. I’m skilled in fiber arts, including sewing, quilting, felting and knitting. I enjoy making functional and artistic items by hand. I’m also experienced in household management, including cooking, organizing, and keeping a home running smoothly with a focus on simplicity and sustainability.
I have hands-on experience with livestock care, having worked with a range of animals including chickens, goats, and other livestock, ensuring they are well-cared for and healthy. I also have experience in childcare, having worked as a nanny for multiple years I have learned the importance of creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for children. Additionally, I have a passion for gardening, in the past I have mostly grown a small scale herb and vegetable garden and have found that rewarding and fun.
I’m particularly interested in working abroad to expand my knowledge and share my skills. Whether it’s supporting sustainable farming practices, learning new approaches, or contributing to local communities, I’m excited to embark on this journey, and I look forward to bringing my skills and enthusiasm to new opportunities abroad.Age
