(We are currently looking for workaway experiences around the canadian rockies (Alberta or BC))

    Hello there!

We are Estelle and Xavier, a couple from Belgium. This year, we are both taking a break from our jobs as bioengineers to travel to Canada between September 2024 and August 2025. We both love being out in nature and are looking for new people to meet and projects to discover. Each in our way, we love working outdoors and with our hands. Xavier is very handy and can get by in all sorts of areas (carpentry, electricity, construction/repairs, etc.), while Estelle has a great love of plants and cooking and is interested in everything that revolves around these worlds (sowing and vegetable gardening, phytotherapy, cooking with plants, canning, lacto-fermentation, etc.).

We each have a bit of experience in the hotel and catering industry, Xavier as a barman, and Estelle in reception and service on a guest farm.

As we have both been living in shared accommodation for 7 years, we are very used to living in groups and we adapt very well to all kinds of new environments. Our mother tongue is French, and we speak fluent English.

We're open-minded, outgoing, and hard-working, and we're looking forward to helping with any inspiring projects we come across along the way!

In Belgium, Xavier worked as an engineer in the use of energy in buildings and construction. He enjoys climbing and running as a sport, and his main hobbies are woodworking and everything to do with ‘build it yourself’ and low-tech. In addition to French and English, he gets by in German and Dutch.

Estelle used to work in the transition of food systems, on the themes of collective catering and governance. She practices aerial silk and enjoys creative activities. In Brussels, she and a small group of people set up an educational farm, La Ferme d'Anjou. In addition to French and English, she gets by in Portuguese and Dutch.

    Bonjour!
