  • Description

Hi, I'm Enno, 19 years old and from Hanover.
I finished school this year and before diving into “real life,” I want to travel and get to know the world and people better.
That’s why I’m planning to do Work and Travel for about a year with a friend of mine.

In my free time, I enjoy being active in sports (especially Table Tennis, climbing and hiking) or spending time with friends. Additionally I started working at my table tennis club as a coach about two years ago. I’m an open and friendly person who’s really excited about this Work and Travel adventure, because I enjoy discovering new places and meeting new people —something I already experienced during my school exchange year.

I’m traveling with a friend I’ve known for around 9 years. We want to explore Europe together and we're looking forward to meeting other travelers as well as hosts and spending a great time together!

    Hi 👋
My name is William, 19y old. This Summer I graduated from my school in Hannover, Germany, and still don’t really know how I want to get along and enjoy my live. Except for my longing to enroll at an University, I’m still pretty open for anything live throws at me. So why not take a leap into unknown ground and plan a Gap year of Work and Travel. My cousin who hitchhiked around a year prior and now, again, is driving on the roads of portugal in his own car, was my first contact with this kind of adventure. Of all the things he told me, his newly acquired sense of optimism is something I’m in dire need of, especially in these times of political lunacy, as well as good memories i can build on and am happy to share. The best for me would be to travel with a good friend, therefore we travel and registered as a duo at Workaway.

About me in general: At first, I probably come across as a shy character, so you would have to give me a bit of time to open up. Still I’m eager to experience new and test and throw myself into challenges. Another point why I’m willing to start this journey, is that I want to be outside more often. Thanks to my dog and my friends van, I’m actually quite on track to fill my self set quota. Nevertheless my anticipation hasn’t diminished. After my Graduation I’ve spend my time by meeting up with close friends, scolded myself to finally dip into more advanced literature and get into bouldering at a local climbing gym.

    (William)
Regarding my skills and experience — As already mentioned, i have a dog at home and I am keen to make new four-legged friends. No matter if by taking him/her on a walk or scrubbing their back free of dirt, even keeping an eye would be fine by me. But now to the actual work experience i have accumulated over the years: I have painted my room and screwed some furniture together. Garden work and kneeling into soil is not something I’m shy off and while I have some knowledge of computers and technology, added up by school lessons of computer science, I wouldn’t exactly describe myself as an “hands down” expert. On the contrary, I take pride in my cooking and English, even though I constantly work to improve both. I’m also sure I pass as an short term au-pair, not only because of my little sister, who is 4 years below my age, but also as a result of my 1 week placement as a trainee in an elementary school. And since I constantly have my hands on something new, I believe I’m not too bad at learning new things and getting used to different tasks.

    (Enno)
William and I, to start off, finished school this year, by passing the „Abitur“ exams. In school I learned to speak and understand the english language, which I continued to improve during my exchange year in England, where I learned to adapt to new surroundings and people. My table tennis club, in which I am a member since 2016, educated 5 Trainers in total, including myself. We all acquired a Trainers Licence, which we used to work at our club and teach young people upwards of the age of 8 how to play table tennis.
When it comes to other skills in life, I tried myself in woodworking by for example planning and building a few three-dimensional connect four games as a present for friends and family. Additionally I build myself a longboard, with the help of my sibling. Furthermore i’ve done some other stuff, like panting some walls in our home. Another thing that I really like to do and especially to learn is cooking. I enjoy cooking with and for my friends and family and like to try out new recipes. In general I am just really interested in learning new things in all parts of my life and as I would say am a fast learner.
